Pep Guardiola of Manchester City made history as he recorded three consecutive league titles as a coach in the English Premier League, German Bundesliga, and Spanish La Liga.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reached his peak last night, 20th of May, as his team won the 2022/2023 English Premier League season after Arsenal lost their match against Nottingham Forest.

The 52-year-old Spanish coach won his fifth Premier League Championship in seven years with Manchester City.

The Spaniard deserves more honor for dominating Spanish, German, and English football, although Europe’s biggest trophy has escaped him since 2011.

Pep Guardiola became the first coach in the history of football to have earned the League title in three straight periods in La Liga, Bundesliga, and Premier League.

He attained this achievement in La Liga during his stint at FC Barcelona, where he won the league titles from 2009 to 2011. He also accomplished this feat while serving as manager of Bayern Munich, a club he led to three consecutive Bundesliga championships in 2014–2016.

Under Guardiola’s leadership, Man City won their third Premier League in a row. Manchester United, under Alex Ferguson, was the last team to win three consecutive league titles, doing so from 2007 to 2009.

In his 15th season as a manager, Pep won his 11th league title.

Pep Guardiola’s stint at Bayern Munich;

After four grueling years with Barcelona, the Catalan took over Bayern in 2013, inheriting a club that had just won the treble under predecessor Jupp Heynckes and breaking the record for winning the Bundesliga at the earliest possible stage.

Guardiola improved an already dominant squad at home, and they went on to win the Bundesliga that year with 90 points, 19 more than Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund in second place. This was all accomplished in just 27 games.

Additionally, his team broke the record for most points in the first half of the season, with 47 out of a possible 51. Bayern finished off the treble with a dominant 2-0 victory over Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal final.

After advancing past Arsenal and Manchester United to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, a 5-0 aggregate loss to Real Madrid was the only blemish on an otherwise perfect inaugural season.

However, Guardiola failed to win a European trophy with Bayern Munich before he departed for Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s time at FC Barcelona;

It is generally agreed that the Spanish manager’s first season as a coach, in which he won the treble, was his finest hour as a manager.

He took over Barcelona in 2008 and led them to a La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Champions League treble victory, sweeping aside all competition along the way.

When Guardiola signed with City in 2016, his detractors said he was just taking an easy job with a wealthy club.

The Spaniard joined a club owned by the billionaire Abu Dhabi royal family and run by his old friends in Barcelona, Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano, who had won two of the last five Premier League titles with him.

But it should not be forgotten that he inherited a team that had grown demotivated under Manuel Pellegrini and finished 15 points off the pace of shock Premier League champions Leicester City.

They were only fourth because they had more goals than Manchester United.

In a little over a year, Guardiola completely remade City’s team, spending roughly £200 million on four fullbacks, and a goalkeeper. He also made the brave decision to release Joe Hart.

His lack of success at the end of his first season earned him ridicule, but his second season saw City win the Premier League by a comfortable margin and become the league’s first 100-point side.

Many football experts predicted that their brand of sleek possession football would go miserably in England.

However, Guardiola continued to win with City after many of his predecessors had failed to do so, much like he had done with Bayern.

Manchester City avenged last year’s heartbreaking semi-final loss to Real Madrid with a 5-1 aggregate victory after thrashing the Spanish giants 4-0 at the Etihad last week.

Even without goals from Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, Guardiola’s team still looked brilliant as a team.

Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper for Real Madrid, made a hat trick of incredible saves to keep Haaland from scoring his 53rd goal of the season and spare the visitors from a historic humiliation.

City’s near-flawless first half was rewarded with two goals by Bernardo Silva, which was the least they deserved.

After the intermission, they slowed down, but Manuel Akanji scored on a deflection, and Julian Alvarez scored in stoppage time to make the result reflect reality.

Since they have already reached the final of two competitions, Man City will be eager to win all three trophies (League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup) for the first time in their history.

On June 3 at Wembley Stadium, the English champions will face their local rivals, Manchester United, in the FA Cup final.

On June 10, in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Pep’s squad will play Inter Milan for the UEFA Champions League title. This match comes just seven days after the FA Cup final.
