Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has responded to rival fans claiming the Gunners surrendered the Premier League title, giving Manchester City the chance to hoist the trophy.

Since early April, Arsenal have fallen from leading the Premier League table by eight points to being behind Manchester City by four points.

With only two games remaining, they have only won two of the seven matches they have played, and they appear destined to lose the Premier League title.

Ramsdale, though, asserts that it is overly simplistic to claim that Mikel Arteta’s Gunners capitulated under pressure.

The 25-year-old has defended his colleagues and retaliated against rivals who claim Arsenal have given up the title to City.

After agreeing to a new contract extension, Ramsdle stated: “Although we are disappointed, we are also quite proud of ourselves.”

“I think it’s an easy way out – just a quick, cheap narrative from some people who haven’t gone digging into stories of what we have achieved.”

“It is very difficult to say that about a club that can win the treble, could win five of the last six titles, and is riding an 11-game winning streak. We must also exercise common sense.”

“It’s currently terribly disappointing, but consider how forward-moving the season has been and how upbeat we can be.”

Manchester City’s 11-game winning streak and 14-game unbeaten streak in the English Premier League overlap with Arsenal’s title-ending run of two wins, two loses, and three draws.

Manchester City

Manchester City have a big lead over their competitors and a game in hand, so they’re very close to winning the Premier League.

Arsenal will strive to stop Manchester City from extending their lead when they play Nottingham Forest on Sunday, May 21.
