In football, we have seen several duos become amazing friends and such is the case of Manchester City pair Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland.
Grealish has been amazing for Manchester City this campaign across all competitions and he talked about a lot of things during a long interview with the Daily Mail.
Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland are best of pals and the Englishman discussed about his friendship with the Norwegian during the interview.
Even before the interview, Grealish had referred to the former Borussia Dortmund attacker as one of his closest friends.
Speaking with BT Sport in March, He said: “I get on really well with him, We have the same type of banter. We get on so well off the pitch.”
Manchester City are reaping lovely dividend from the Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland relationship on and off the pitch. The pair have combined well in helping the Citizens to a possible treble this season.
Grealish highlighted in his recent interview that he and his compadre have different lifestyle choices.
The 27-year-old said: “Everyone is different aren’t they? Look at Erling. He is the best professional I have ever seen.
“His mindset is something you won’t see again. He does everything. Recovers. In the gym. Ten hours of treatment a day. Ice baths. Diet. That’s why he is what he is. But I swear I couldn’t be like that.”
Jack Grealish spoke about his massive friendship with Haaland and how the Norwegian tells him not to party after a game.
Grealish said: “We have a great friendship but he will point at me after a game and say: ‘Hey. Don’t you go out tonight partying’. I just tell him to shut up and go and sit in his ice bath. But that’s us. Two different people doing well in our own way.
“I am not as successful as him. He has scored more goals this season than I have in my whole career. But if he did what I occasionally did he would be like: ‘F****** hell I feel terrible today.”
He further stated: “I have a release that’s different to this. He is going home and sitting with his family and having a take away. Sometimes that is my choice too. I love doing that. But sometimes I like to go out and let my hair down.
“I am not gonna sit here and lie and say I don’t go out. What’s the point? It’s also pointless telling you I am here at 8am going in the gym and that’s the reason I am playing well. It’s not.
“The reason I am playing well is because I feel fit, confident, good in myself and like I am at home here. But I still love an occasional drink and going out with my friends. That’s just normal.”
The Beginning Of The Jack Grealish And Erling Haaland Bromance
The pair gave Manchester City fans a glimpse of what has supposedly unravelled now with the partnership as in July 2022 Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland combined well in a friendly win over Bayern Munich.
In a footage showing the duo walking down the tunnel at Lambeau Field, Grealish said: “I told you.”
Haaland replied: “Exactly, these balls are what I like.”
Grealish: “Hey Kal [Kalvin Phillips], I said to him before the game I will go down the line.”
That was supposedly when the bromance got into the eye of the world.
After that match against Bayern, Haaland said: “He (Grealish) is good, but he has to get better. I have to get better. Good link, I like the vibe around him. It’s going to be fun.”
Jack Grealish also spoked about Haaland following that saying: “Erling’s looked good in training and once he reaches full fitness will be unstoppable.”
”I can’t wait to play with him and I’m really looking forward to it. He is a great guy, a brilliant guy. The first day that I met him we took a car together and even after that ride I thought, ‘what a guy’.”
The England International continued: “He’s so down to earth and quite up front with the way he is. You get used to that.
“He actually said to me, ‘I’m only half the price of you so I haven’t got the pressure’. Obviously it’s always going to be big expectations but nowadays you have to deal with it.
“I suppose if he misses a chance or whatever then people are always going to have something to say. I’ve had to get used to it myself.”
And 10 months down the line, it appears the bromance keeps on getting better and better as everyday passes by.
Erling Haaland also said in an interview with Paramount a few weeks when he revealed his best friend at Manchester City.
Haaland said: “Jack Grealish is a great guy, I really like him, we have the same sense of humor, we joke a lot and enjoy playing together.”
Erling Haaland has netted 47 goals for Manchester City this campaign while his friend Jack Grealish has scored 5 goals and provided 11 assists for the Citizens.
