An ex-Everton player who was freed of child sex offences could make a comeback to International football according to the nation’s head coach.
It was disclosed last week that the footballer, who can’t be named due to legal reasons, would not be indicted and will go through no additional action, after he was apprehended over the offences in 2021.
The former Premier League player could now allegedly make a comeback to International football based on the manager of his country.
Based on a report by the Sun, the coach told a local media outlet that: “He will have to decide for himself whether he wants to return to football and play again.
“If he does, he will obviously be in my plans, if he maintains the same standard.
“We are very happy because his name has been cleared and these two years must have been hell for him.”
His manager supposedly branded him a “nice boy”
It’s also alleged that the manager termed the player a “nice boy” and that they “felt for him” during his time off football.
Police established in a statement last week that no additional action would be taken against the player.
A statement from Greater Manchester Police last week stated: “The investigation team and Crown Prosecution Service have been working together and reached the decision that the evidence available at this time does not reach the threshold set out on the Code for Crown Prosecutors.
“Greater Manchester Police is committed to investigating allegations to secure the best possible outcomes for all involved and will continue to work with partner agencies to ensure individuals are supported throughout investigations and beyond.”
The married footballer was arrested in July 2021, before he was released on bail, which was expanded around 12 months ago.
Magistrates sanctioned an application for the extension, which was to last till July 2022 and the player was suspended by the Premier League team immediately, which the club established in a statement put out at that point in time.
Everton immediately suspended the player
The statement reads: “Everton can confirm it has suspended a player pending a police investigation.
“The club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time.”
Police officers ransacked the star’s home in July 2021 where “several items were seized”.
There are reports that the former Premier League player who was apprehended in July 2021 at the £3 million mansion he shared with his partner and family could take legal actions against the police after he was told that he wouldn’t be charged after a two-year investigation.
Police officers raided his belongings in Cheshire following a complaint received connected to a young girl a month before.
The former Everton player who has always claimed his innocence over the issue spent 21 months hovering around a cloud of suspicion before being told last week that he would face no additional actions.
And currently, his lawyers have disclosed that he is considering initiating a lawsuit after his life was put on hold for a very lengthy time.
