Italian heavyweights AC Milan are supposedly interested in acquiring Mason Greenwood in the midst of growing doubt over his future at Manchester United.

Greenwood has not played for Manchester United since he was suspended by the team in January 2022 after allegations of attempted rape, bodily harm and coercive or controlling behavior.

He was indicted by the Crown Prosecution Service in October before the charges were dropped in February 2023 after important witnesses withdrew their involvement.

The Old Trafford club themselves began their own internal findings into Mason Greenwood and the accusations following the decisions by the authorities to put down the charges, although this is not likely to be finalized until after the expiration of the campaign.

Mason Greenwood would allegedly “run through a brick wall” to be back playing for Ten Hag’s Red Army, but there is no present time stipulated on when United’s findings would end.

And currently, the Englishman has not been given permission to return to the club’s Carrington training ground in Manchester.

Based on information from Rovelo, the doubt has resulted in a number of teams in and around Europe to show their desire in acquiring the 21-year-old.

Mason Greenwood still has a deal with United running until 2025 and his current salary is presumed to be £100,000 per week.

One of the teams eyeing the youngster is AC Milan, who apparently love the technical ability of the Englishman.

It has been alleged that he has been looking forward to start all over again, preferably another country as he looks to resuscitate his career.

The 21-year-old future at Manchester United has been a source of battle for a while now in spite of his charges being removed.

It was reported that Manchester United declined offers from Turkey in January and that many of the women’s team, who share the Carrington training ground with the men, would want to see him exit the club.

The information states that AC Milan are also eyeing other strikers, including Moussa Dembele of Lyon, Noah Okafor and Florin Balogun, who has shone for Rennes this campaign on loan from Arsenal.

Milan are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and battle Napoli on Tuesday night vying to progress to the semi-finals, having picked up a 1-0 aggregate advantage at the San Siro.

When Erik ten Hag was quizzed about the matter of Greenwood in his press conference the day after the charges were dropped, he pointed people to the statement put out by the team.

The Dutchman said: “I can’t add anything, I refer to the statement of the club.”

Manchester United in a statement said: “Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped.

“The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete.

Mason Greenwood made his debut for United in 2019, in a 3-1 victory over French side Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

The Englishman has also made only one appearance for the Three Lions of England, against Iceland in September 2020.
