Dele Alli, who is on loan from Everton, returned to London in the weekend to treat an injury he picked up in Besiktas.

His parent club’s medical team did review the injury regardless, although he is not eligible to play for the Toffees this season.

Dele Alli who went on loan to Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas from Everton in August 2022 has failed to make any impact at the club, having just two goals and one assist in 15 games.

Besiktas allegedly wanted to terminate his loan contract in January but the lack of a break clause was a stumbling block.

Dele Alli who will turn 27 years on the 11th of April joined Everton from Tottenham in February 2022 for a fee of £40m but failed to impact and was shipped to Besiktas six months later.

The Englishman has been unable to replicate the massive form that won him 37 England caps which was last in 2017 and he’s also struggling in Turkey.

Besiktas manager reportedly questioned Alli’s commitment in March after he missed training, with Senol Gunes saying the midfielder was not reachable.

The former Tottenham star was understood to be bemused by the accusations that he had gone AWOL.

Senol Gunes said on Wednesday that they were unable to reach the player and were trying to hear from him amid fear that he was not involved in an accident.

Futballnews understands that Dele Alli returned to London this week for a medical appointment that was sanctioned by the club.

Alli has returned to the Turkish side’s squad despite being informed that he is not part of Gunes’ plans for the remainder of the season. But he had to return to England again this weekend for further medical attention.

Bamidele Jermaine Alli was born 11 April 1996 and he is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League club Everton.

Dele Alli joined Tottenham in February 2015 for a transfer fee of £5 million, but was loaned back to the Mk Dons – his first club for the remainder of the season.

Alli in his first two seasons with Tottenham was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year and made the PFA Team of the Year.

He then signed for Everton in January 2022 and later that year joined Beşiktaş on loan.

    What Happened To Alli?

Under then Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, Dele Alli was one of the brightest players in European football.

From the moment Pochettino was fired by Tottenham, Dele Alli’s career seems to have dwindled ever since then.

During the “Mauricio Era” Alli could never be wrong and was always a contender for ‘Goal of the Month’ with some awesome goals and was linked to some of the best clubs in Europe.

It looked like the Everton loanee had a good relationship with the Argentine and his departure might have been a sole reason for his drop in form.

Alli ended up moving to Everton for a fee of £40m with add-ons to see if he could give his career the major boost it now seemed to need.

Unfortunately, that did not happen and Everton immediately shipped him off to Turkish club Besiktas on loan.

He has since then struggled to find his form and some departments in Besiktas have questioned the player’s contribution with him even being booed off the pitch.
