Barcelona may likely face Laliga sanctions after two unruly and dangerous incidents were recorded during the El-Clasico on Wednesday.
Reports from Spanish media outlets say the Laliga title hopefuls may likely come under sanctions after the El-Clasico.
Center referee Juan Martinez has reportedly captured the boiling points during the game in his report which may likely land the Catalan club in trouble.
The two incidents were instigated by Barcelona fans and the match had to be halted on those two occasions due to the hostility of the fans toward Real Madrid players.
Barcelona fans seem to hurl missiles at Real Madrid players during the game when it seems the home side where losing touch with the ball and falling apart to the Merengues.
At a point, an official announcement had to be made, pleading with the fans to respect the opponents on the field of play and stop hurling objects at them.
The match report by Juan Martinez disseminated by Darius AS captured the very scenes when the hostile fans started throwing objects at Real Madrid players in a seeming frustration with the scoreline.
The match officials halt play in the 74th minute and used a public address system to ask fans to stop hurling dangerous objects at players.
Some of the identifiable objects which were thrown by the Barcelona fans included lighters and bottles. However, it was confirmed non of the Real Madrid players targeted by the missiles was hit in the first incident.
After the fans were called to order, the game was forced to be halted again in the 80th minute when they started to aim missiles at the players again.
This time, items hurled into the pitch as reported by Juan Martinez include three lighters directed at Real Madrid’s goal and a Euro coin.
One of the objects was said to have hit Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois while two bottles of water did not hit anybody.
The public address system was again used to caution the reckless fans.
It has been confirmed Thibaut Courtois was not injured by the object despite being hit and was able to continue with his game after resumption of play.
Spanish football authorities are yet to take a decision after Juan Martinez’s report and there are speculations the club could be slammed with a huge fine that could worsen their fragile financial status.
After edging pass Real Madrid three times this season, Barcelona fell in shambles to the Merengues’ firepower.
