Jose Mourinho has supposedly been offered more than £100 million to manage Saudi Arabia in a two-year contract which would make the Portuguese, the highest paid coach ever.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s team Al Nassr are also said to be admiring Jose Mourinho with current coach Rudi Garcia expected to exit at the end of this campaign.

Mourinho penned a deal with AS Roma in 2021 and his present deal with the Serie A side runs till 2024.

Moreover, there has been disagreement over transfers and dissatisfaction at Roma’s fortunes this season.

AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho

With the 60-year-old future still dangling in the balance at the Italian side, Jose Mourinho has now been directly met by “top management” to manage the Saudi Arabia national team.

The deal includes two options and a staggering pay

Based on information from Corriere dello Sport, the contract contains £52-million per year alongside two alternatives for Jose Felix Mourinho.

Jose would have the opportunity to cancel the contract at the expiration of the first year or further it till 2026, the year of the North American World Cup.

The Italian media outlet also put out a report that Jose Mourinho could follow Cristiano Ronaldo who has been sublime since joining Al Nassr in January.

Ronaldo played under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid for three campaigns from 2010 till 2013, lifting the La Liga and the Copa Del Rey.

AS Roma have found it hard to rubber stamp their place in the Serie A’s Champions League positions and they currently occupy the fifth spot in the Italian top-flight.

Mourinho has benefitted from a sound rapport with supporters of AS Roma but it looks like he cannot convince Roma’s hierarchy that he is worthy of a new contract.

According to Get Football Italy, no contract offer has been tabled for Jose Felix Mourinho by the owners of AS Roma even though he has just a season left in his contract.

He has supposedly requested for at least three new players, a striker, midfielder and defender to be acquired in the summer transfer window if he is to remain as manager of the side.

Jose Mourinho wants to sort out his future with Roma quickly

The Portuguese wants to resolve his future while the campaign is ongoing and he is reportedly eager to meet with the club’s administrators, the Friedkins.

The ex-Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur coach could move away from Roma if his requests are not acceded to by the team.

That could open the way for Jose Mourinho to coach Saudi Arabia, who defeated Argentina in their group encounter during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Jose Mourinho has won a lot in his illustrious career, lifting several league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

He has also won the UEFA Champions League twice previously with FC Porto and Inter Milan.

The man who nicknamed himself “The Special One” has an aura that makes him unique wherever he goes, he is also a darling to many who regard him to be the greatest manager in the history of football.
