Matchday 38 of the English Premier League saw Norwich, Bournemouth and Watford relegated from the English top flight.
Norwich was the first EPL team to be relegated with 21 points from 37 matches, 5 wins, 6 draws and 27 loss. Norwich had started the season brightly but quickly lost momentum and went several matches without a win
Norwich plays for pride as they go down
Norwich had nothing at stake has they visited Etihad to face Man city a game of very little importance, but Norwich still showed enough hunger for the match.
Teemu Puki and Hernandez got close to scoring while the scoreline was still 0-0 but Ederson pull off some brilliant saves to deny both players. Man city opened scoring with Gabriel Jesus, and Kevin De Bruyne getting a brace while Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez all got on the score sheet.
The game which was Man city’s David Silva’s, last game and it was a befitting sent-off for him as the game turned out as expected for the Manchester club as they added to Norwich woes. The game finish 5-0 as the Caneries prepare for life in the lower division.
Arsenal Hurdle too high for Watford to climb
Watford couldnt overcome the gunners at the Emirates as they gave themselfs too much work to do. The team had fallen 3 goals behind withing 35 minutes of the game.
Watford fell to a 3-2 defeat as they went down to 19th position to join Norwich.
Aubameyang had open the scoresheet for the gunners in the 5th minute of the game from the spot, Tierney doubled the lead. The game looked out of reach as Aubameyang added a third goal.
Watford’s put up a good fight as the game continued when captain Deeney scored from the penalty spot after David Luiz foul a Watford player and Danny Welbeck scored a second to further reduce the goal margin, but it was too late as Arsenal held on to their lead, the defeat confirms Watford’s reality of championship football next season.
Bournemouth relegated despite emphatic victory
Bournemouth was the unfortunate one as they won their game against Everton at Goodison Park. Bournemouth hoped Westham would do them a favour by beating Aston Villa but the game ended 1-1 draw, which thwarted Eddie Howe’s efforts.
Bournemouth’s adventure in the EPL came to end despite a thrilling encounter at Goodison park,Josh King, Dominic Solanke, and Stanislas all got on the score sheet as Eddie Howe’s put up a great fight to win 3-1,while Moise Kean was on target for Everton who had already secured a mid-table position.
