Luis Suarez has traveled to Argentina to celebrate Christmas at Lionel Messi’s house after Argentina won the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
After enjoying the celebrations at home in Buenos Aires following his World Cup victory, Lionel Messi traveled to his home town of Rosario to celebrate the Christmas season with his family and friends, which also included Luis Suarez of Uruguay.
The 35-year-old Uruguayan icon was seen on Thursday, December 22, 2022, by 1:00 pm local time flying into Argentina with one of his sons to join Messi in celebrating the World Cup victory.
Luis Suarez and one of his sons were seen waving at admirers as they enter the Islas Malvinas international airport in Rosario, Santa Fe province, Argentina, on their way to Lionel Messi’s residence in the city.
Suarez, his partner Sofia Balbi, and their kids landed in Argentina on a private jet from Montevideo, according to Argentine media on Thursday. He and Lionel Messi grew close when they both played for the Spanish team Barcelona.
When Messi visited Rosario, the city where he grew up, he received a hero’s welcome from the adoring fans.
He was reportedly met by wild scenes upon his return and would spend the Christmas holiday in his mansion.
More than five million people flocked to the streets of Buenos Aires on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, to show their support for “la Scaloneta,” but the city was so crowded that the players had to be air-lifted out before Messi and Angel Di Maria left for Rosario.
Many international sports stars, including former Spain player Andres Iniesta and former Argentina striker Sergio Aguero, are expected to attend the celebrations, according to local media. The Argentina captain is staying at his residence at the Kentucky Country Club.
Earlier this year, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez went on vacation together in Ibiza with Cesc Fabregas and their families.
Uruguay, led by the former Barcelona striker, was eliminated from the FIFA World Cup group stage after a contentious penalty call caused them to finish third on goal differential.
During their playing careers at Barcelona, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez developed a close bond. After a standout season with Liverpool, he signed for Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
The establishment of “MSN,” which went on to win a record triple in their first season alone, was made possible by his joining Barca along with Neymar. During that season’s Champions League final, Luis Suarez also scored.
He won another La Liga championship with Atletico Madrid after leaving Barcelona, following Lionel Messi’s Barcelona exit to PSG.
Suarez is in the latter stages of his career and is currently playing for Nacional in his native nation. Despite being in fantastic form at PSG, Messi’s future is still up in the air, and a transfer to MLS is being rumored.
Therefore, Messi and Suarez could yet end up on the same team in the future.
