The Premier League, through the most extensive round of testing to date, has confirmed that one person is having coronavirus from its latest round of testing.
After three months hiatus action will be back in the Premier League on June 17. So far, 14 persons, which include players and staff, are carrying the deadly virus. UK already has about 300,000 cases, with over 41,000 deaths recorded so far.
According to reports, the test held on June 8 and 9, with 1,213 players and club staff tested up to date. The test is reportedly the most extensive of the seven rounds.
With the identity of the case yet to be known, the development comes up two days after Manchester United were forced to cancel a training match against Stoke City after their manager Michael O’Neill was tested positive for coronavirus.
Stoke players were already at United’s Carrington training ground for the closed-door match when the news filtered through that O’Neill is positive after conducting the test.
Stoke confirmed the report that the manger was tested positive of the deadly virus following the latest round of testing conducted on June 8. They added that O’Neill had tested negative in the previous five rounds of testing.
The next thing to be done by the manager is to follow the relevant guidance and undergo a period of isolation. He will continue to be in regular virtual contact with his coaching staff and players while the assistant manager, Billy McKinlay, will be in charge of training. The Potters will return to action in the Championship for their game against Reading on June 20.

As Premier League resumes on June 17, Aston Villa will welcome host to Sheffield United before Manchester City tackle Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
Although Liverpool has a game in hand, most teams have nine matches left in the current season. The Reds only need to win two games to claim their maiden title of the Premier League era. The quest begins against local rivals Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, June 21.
The last game that was played in the league was on March 9, when Leicester City whitewashed Aston Villa 4-0 before the coronavirus forced the suspension of the season.
