It has been a very rough year for Chelsea’s youngster Callum Hudson-odoi. He was in the news on Sunday that he was arrested because he allegedly rapped a lady in his apartment amid coronavirus lockdown. The incident which happened during the weekend came weeks after the 19-year-old “fully recovered” from coronavirus he contracted in March.
All these controversies couldn’t stop him from resuming with Chelsea‘s squad when the club resume training in small groups on Tuesday evening, May 19, 2020.
The young England international was pictured jogging with few other Chelsea stars at their Cobham training facility in London, over 24 hours after he was released from police custody on bail.
It was reported that Hudson-Odoi invited a lady he met online to his house and allegedly raped her amid coronavirus lockdown. A statement from the police revealed that the Police and London Ambulance Service were called to Hudson-Odoi‘s residence over a case of “an unwell lady” on Sunday.
When the emergency team arrived at the scene, the unnamed woman told them that the Chelsea star rapped her which subsequently led to his arrest while the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The police released the Chelsea star on bail on Monday to participate in the mass coronavirus testing which was carried out in preparation for the resumption of the 2019-2020 season which has been halted since March. The statement revealed that the Chelsea star would have to return to the police station for further questioning in mid-June.
Since the news of his arrest and subsequent release broke out, the club has not issued a statement in regards the alleged incident and the player in question has not made any comment to debunk the allegation or clarify what transpired between him and the alleged rape victim.

Recall that the Premier League permitted clubs to resume training in small groups of 5 under stringent social distancing guidelines. Some of the Premier League clubs took advantage of the permission on Tuesday evening to train ahead of a possible restart of the 2019-2020 season in mid-June.
Most fans and critics were not expecting Hudson-Odoi anywhere close to the training camp for now until he is able to clear his name of the rape allegation hanging on his neck. However, Chelsea football club saw no reason to prevent him from resuming training with the rest of the team.
