All things being equal, live matches of the English Premier League will return to television in June since fans won’t be allowed into the stadia when the season finally restarts. Some players in the league are already growing cold feet about the resumption of the league noting that it might not be ideal to play amid the coronavirus pandemic. But one player that is ready for whatever happens is Tottenham star, Harry Kane. He said he should be ready to go from the first game of the restart.

Recall that weeks before the coronavirus pandemic halted football in the Premier League on March 13, Harry Kane was already out with a hamstring injury. In fact, his last game was against Southampton on new year day.

Medics helped him out of the field because he ruptured a tendon in his left hamstring which was operated upon afterwards. He was expected to be out for almost the rest of the 2019-2020 season, but the coronavirus break gave him enough time to heal from the injury and still catch up with at least 9 games if the season restarts.

In an interview with Sky Sports recently, the England national team captain said he has fully recovered from the injury and he is ready to return to football.

“I’m pretty much as good as I can be,” he said. “I was at a good stage before the lockdown. I was pretty much doing everything except for training with the team.

“Since the lockdown’s happened, I’ve continued doing sessions online with the team, a bit of specific work where I do my own stuff for the hamstring and things like that, but pretty much doing everything else the boys are doing.

“Then obviously the last week or so we’ve been able to go in and do one-on-one training with one member of staff on the pitch. It’s been nice to get out and start touching a ball again.

“Whenever the season does continue, whether it’s next month, or two months, three months, I should be ready to go from the first game.”

The 26-year-old Tottenham talisman has played 25 matches for Tottenham Hotspur in all competitions this season before an injury knocked him out. In those matches, he has recorded 17 goals and made two assists.

Tottenham‘s coach Jose Mourinho is battling to keep him at the club as he is being linked with a move to Spurs’ rival clubs in the Premier League. However, pundits believe that the prolific striker may have no other choice than to remain at the club since most clubs may not want to spend over £200 million on a single player this summer due to the coronavirus crisis that has badly affected the earnings of clubs.
