Manchester United’s search for more additions to the beleaguered squad has gathered momentum as the transfer window hits dawn. Erik Ten Hag has brought three additions into the Manchester United squads. But the team needs more reinforcements if they must be ready to challenge for a top-four finish this season.

The Red Devils’ first two Premier League matches have ended in a disaster. Two heavy defeats, six goals conceded. All six goals came in the first 45 minutes of each game.

The games are evidence of Man United’s scrambled squad without form, which may even end in relegation if the rot and decline are not handled with the utmost sense of emergency that it demands.

Manchester United have been linked to a piling list of players in the last three days. Some players linked to the Old Trafford club include Casemiro, Adrien Rabiot, Marko Arnautovic, Christian Pulisic, Matheus Cunha, Joao Felix, and many others. The list is limitless. Erik Ten Hag is keen on bringing in more players, especially in the midfield and attacking line-up.

Manchester United’s £15m deal with Juventus for Adrien Rabiot has been scuttled by her mother’s insistence on a £240,000 weekly wage for the player. Erik Ten Hag has reportedly called off the move due to the wage gap. The Red Devils have equally pulled out of the Marko Arnautovic deal after allegations by fans of a history of racist nuances by Arnautovic at FC Twente.

Manchester United are also planning a move for top-rated Brazilian and Real Madrid defensive midfielder, Casemiro. According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti will be a huge factor if Casemiro will subsequently choose to move to the Old Trafford club.

Matheus Cunha and Joao Felix are also on the radar of coach Erik Ten Hag. The Red Devils are planning a double swoop for the Atletico Madrid forwards.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United director of football John Murtough has met with the Spanish club over a potential deal, but the answer was negative. Atletico Madrid has made it clear that they will not accept €50m for Matheus Cunha and that they have no intention to sell Joao Felix. This may be a major blow to Manchester United’s attempt to land the forward.

With the future of Cristiano Ronaldo remaining uncertain and the transfer window edging towards closure, Erik Ten Hag, and his director John Murtough have to act fast.

On the other hand, Man United fans are mounting intense pressure and hope to force the Glazers out of the club as soon as possible. Sooner than later, the seething discontent among fans may spill into the ranks of the club officials, with Erik Ten Hag not left out.
