Four years after his dreadful performance in the Champions League final loss to Real Madrid, the German goalkeeper will depart Liverpool this summer.

The German told Sky Deutschland: “There were ups and downs. It’s part of the game, that’s football, but I’ve developed as a person.

“The level at which we worked every day and the professionalism that everyone exemplifies was unique. I have that I’ve never experienced it before and that’s why we’ve celebrated a lot of successes there. I’ll take this determination with me to my next job.

“I’m free and I can make my own decisions. This is a new situation that I’m looking forward to. A new challenge is coming up, but that’s always a good thing. I’m ready, mentally and physically”.

What happened to Loris Karius?

Karius’s contract expires on June 30, 2022, and his last time wearing Liverpool red came during the team’s defeat to Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final.

Since that momentous day, Karius has enjoyed loan stints at Besiktas (2018–2020) and Union Berlin (2020-2021).

The German, who has played for Germany at every level up to the U21s, transferred from FSV Mainz 05 to the Reds in 2016 for a reported sum of over £6 million. He later appeared in 49 games for the Reds, with 22 clean sheets.

Following the high-profile acquisition of Luis Diaz from Porto, Karius was left off of Liverpool’s 2021–22 Champions League roster in January.

According to Transfermarkt, his current market worth is £1.35 million.

Despite dropping to sixth in line at Anfield behind Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher, Adrian, and Marcelo Pitaluga, Liverpool’s fans won’t forget the German goalkeeper in a hurry.

Loris Karius Girlfriend, Janine Wiggert.

Although Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius struggled during his time at Anfield, the German stopper has no shortage of fans when it comes to finding himself a soulmate.

The Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius may not be loved by Jurgen Klopp anymore, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have strong support off the field.

Influencer Janine Wiggert is the latest woman to be linked to Karius, according to persistent rumors. The footballer is said to be in love with the mother-of-two who has 1.3 million followers on Instagram.

Indeed, Wiggert is a prominent figure in the beauty industry, and she frequently shares hot photos of herself in bikinis. The German beauty frequently travels the world to support her opulent lifestyle, as evidenced by the abundance of images from glitzy destinations and sunny beaches on her Instagram page.

Wiggert and Karius reportedly visited each other in Germany and England after Wiggert recently celebrated her 30th birthday, though the couple has yet to formally declare their relationship on social media.

Contract with Liverpool

With Liverpool F.C., Loris Karius agreed to a five-year, £6,500,000 contract that included an average annual income of £1,300,000. Prior to the sad circumstances that led to the Reds loaning him to Besikitas and then Union Berlin, these were the terms of his contract with Liverpool.

Outgoing Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius believes that Sadio Mané’s decision to join German champions Bayern Munich was a stupid one (in a good way).

The goalkeeper, who spent the 2020–21 season with Union Berlin, spoke to Sky Sport and believes that Mané’s transfer to Bayern is successful for both Bayern and the Bundesliga.

“It would be a crazy transfer for Bayern because he’s one of the top players at Liverpool”, Karius said. “If Bayern Munich manages to sign someone like him, then you can only congratulate them and the Bundesliga too. It would be another star in the league, so I would be very happy for the Bundesliga.”

Karius also discussed his friendship with Mané and his character. “Sadio Mane is very reserved, very down-to-earth”, the German said. “He also speaks a bit of German from his time in Salzburg. I’ve always gotten along very well with him, actually everyone did.”

Mané will excel at Bayern, according to Karius: “Should it take him to Germany, he won’t have any problems adapting.”
