Zinedine Zidane is ready to become new PSG manager

According to multiple reports, the Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain are set to make a shocking move to sign Real Madrid legend and former manager, Zinedine Zidane.

This is coming after PSG’s current manager, Mauricio Pochettino is set to leave the French giants. Pochettino only spent one season with Paris Saint-Germain and Zidane is the next in line to replace him.

Although Pochettino had a good run in domestic titles, the club wants to part ways with him. PSG are believed to be looking for a manager that will give them success in the Champions League competition. Going for Zidane will be a move that could land them their first Champions League trophy.

The former Real Madrid coach is among the most successful managers when it comes to UEFA Champions League competitions. His success story as a Real Madrid manager had him winning three Champions League titles for the Spanish side. Real Madrid first employed him as a manager in 2016 and he led them to win the La Liga title.

He left in 2018 with an amazing win ratio of 70.47 and four UEFA Champions League titles. He joined again in 2019 but left after two seasons.

PSG have made a huge offer to him and this could bring him to the next season. Zidane has been without a club since he left Real Madrid in 2021 and going to Paris Saint-Germain means uniting with one of the most star-studded teams in the world.

PSG are known for mainly domestic titles and are looking forward to getting their hands on the biggest club football trophy. Even with their superb squad that has some of the best players in the world including Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar, they were not able to go beyond the UEFA Champions League round of 16. PSG were up against Real Madrid and their billion dollars squad couldn’t defect the Spanish champions.

Real Madrid went further to win the 2021/22 Champions League competition after defecting Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

PSG’s defeat at the hands of Real Madrid was considered as the start of problems for Pochettino. The Argentinian came from Tottenham Hotspur to PSG and was given one of the best teams in the world. Their fans felt disappointed after their exit from the Champions League last season.

Many sources have reported that the France president, Emmanuel Macron is among the parties telling Zidane to join PSG. The addition of the Frenchman will make them one of the favorites to win the Champions League next season.
