Youssoufa Moukoko Sets New Bundesliga Record After Shining in Dortmund’s 3-0 Win Against Bochum

Borussia Dortmund teenage striker Youssoufa Moukoko set a new record as the youngest player to score 10 goals in the Bundesliga campaign after sending his side to a 3-0 victory against Bochum on Saturday, November 5.

Moukoko sets a new goal record to become the third youngest player to score a Bundesliga double after Kai Havertz and Timo Werner following his two stunning goals that propelled Borussia Dortmund’s win over VfL Bochum.

The Cameroon-born striker, Moukoko opened the scoresheet in the eighth minute, fending off a challenge outside the penalty spot before blasting a 22-yard strike with his left foot that was just beneath the crossbar.

Giovanni Reyna then doubled Dortmund’s lead in the 12th minute after Donyell Malen was fouled. Reyna converted the penalty, shooting the ball with his right foot and sending Manuel Riemann to the wrong side.

In just a few seconds to the end of the first half, an excellent right-foot strike by Youssoufa Moukoko finally sealed Borussia Dortmund’s home victory against their visitors.

The German national team striker made it 3-0 for Dortmund in the 45+2 minute, with another incredible finish, after receiving a brilliant cross from Giovanni Reyna.

At the tender age of 17 years and 350 days, Youssoufa Moukoko has successfully handed himself a dazzling career record of becoming the third teenage footballer to score ten goals in the history of the Bundesliga campaign after Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.


Interestingly, those three first-half goals arrived from Dortmund’s first three shots in the game.

Moreover, twelve of their 23 Bundesliga goals this campaign came from their teenage players, including the three goals against Bochum on Saturday.


Following Saturday’s victory, Borrusia Dortmund has moved up to third place in the Bundesliga table while Bochum remains in the relegation zone with 7 points and 17th position after conceding 35 league goals.

He was born in Cameroon on the 20th of November, 2004 but represents Germany’s youth national team.

Youssoufa Moukoko’s football career

The 17-year-old Cameroon-born Moukoko started his career with Borussia Dortmund.

Known for his scoring ability at younger age levels, he was transferred to Borussia Dortmund’s youth academy at the age of 13 in the Under 17 Bundesliga in July 2016.

Moukoko leveled up to Dortmund’s under-19 team for the 2019–20 season at the age of 14, netting six goals in his debut for the Under-19 Bundesliga in a 9–2 victory against Wuppertaler SV.


The 17-year-old Moukoko completed his first UEFA Youth League match on the 17th of September 2019 against Barcelona, shining as the youngest player to be fielded in the competition.

The teenage Germany national team forward continued his dexterity as he scored the opening goal in a game against Inter Milan, making him the youngest scorer in the Youth League on the 23rd of October 2019.

He was promoted to the senior team and started training with them at the age of 16 years.

Moukoko has scored 141 goals in just 88 appearances for Dortmund’s under-17 and under-19 teams.

This season, Moukoko has so far scored five Bundesliga goals for his side in 12 matches with three assists.
