Willy Caballero And Seven Other Backroom Staff to Join Enzo Maresca at Chelsea

Former Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca is on the verge of joining London club Chelsea ahead of next season. He will be joined by his coaching and technical staff, who were behind his success at Leicester City.

These coaching and technical staff are eight in number. These staff include former Chelsea goalkeeper, Willy Caballero and many others.

Below are the backroom members that will join Maresca at Chelsea ahead of next season.

1. Roberto Vitiello (Development Coach)

Vitiello will walk into the Chelsea football club to develop the young players and prepare them for the Chelsea first team.

His main duty is to provide a pathway for the club’s youngsters, who are looking forward to helping the first team succeed at the highest level.

In recent years, Chelsea Academy has produced youngsters who went on to become well-recognized players in Europe. The club can boost Reece James, Conor Gallagher, Mason Mount, and Levi Colwill.

2. Javier Molina Caballero (analyst)

Javier joined Maresca as a sports analyst 12 months ago. He had previously worked with the likes of Atletico Madrid, Parma, and Barcelona B.

He is vested with the duties of pre-match and post-match analysis. In addition, Javier will be working with Chelsea’s existing data department.

3. Bernardo Cueva (Set-Piece Coach)

The Chelsea Football Club took him away from Brentford, and he will join the Maresca coaching staff this summer. Cueva is expected to provide an exceptional coaching method that will assist the team and individual in their performances.

4. Marcos Alvarez (Fitness Coach)

Alvarez is set to work with Chelsea’s head of performance, Bryce Kavanagh. He will be vested with the duty of making sure the players stay fit. Last season, the London club had one of the worst injury records in the Premier League.

5. Ben Roberts (Goalkeeper Coach and Head of Global Goalkeeping)

Roberts had been exceptional in performing his duties as the coach for Leicester City goalkeepers. Maresca wants the coach to join him at Chelsea because the Italian recognizes Roberts’ qualities. 

Roberts will work with the existing Chelsea staff to ensure the club compete at the highest level through individual coaching and motivation.

6. Michele De Bernardin (Goalkeeper Coach)

Michele will be tasked with the duty of improving the performances of goalkeepers, coupled with their positioning.

He is a creative and highly energetic manager who will also work with on-field players on their positioning so that they can get the ball from the goalkeeper.

Michele has been tipped to work with Ben Roberts for Chelsea ahead of next season in a bid to compete for trophies.

7. Danny Walker (coach)

Walker is an expert at working individually with the players, especially youngsters. He was formerly from the Manchester City academy and had learnt a lot from Pep Guardiola. He is vested with implementing the Enzo Maresca offensive part of the game. 

8. Willy Caballero (Assistant Manager)

The former Chelsea goalkeeper, who was second to Kepa Arrizabalaga during his playing time at Chelsea, will be returning to Stamford Bridge as Maresca assistant manager. He had won praise over the season for giving sound ideas to the manager.
