Who is your best coach in 2021? – football coaches or managers had a lot of opportunities to prove their tactical abilities in a couple of football competitions in 2021.
But among the football coaches that performed excellently during the year, four individuals stood out for us at Futballnews.com. The four coaches that stood out in 2021 are coach Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, coach Thomas Tuchel of Chelsea, coach Roberto Mancini of Italy, and coach Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool.
We will give you reasons why these football managers stood out for us to help you choose who among them performed better in 2021.
- Pep Guardiola of Manchester City
In 2021, Pep Guardiola maintained his status as one of the best coaches in the world by leading Manchester City to win the 2020-2021 Premier League title ahead of Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
Aside from that, the 50-year-old Spanish tactician led Manchester City to win the 2020-2021 EFL Cup. He crowned it up by leading the club to the final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the history of the club but lost it to Chelsea.
In the 2021-2020 season, the coach has led the Premier League side to sit on the top of the league table with 53 points in 21 games with a whopping 10 points above second-placed Chelsea.
- Thomas Tuchel of Chelsea
Thomas Tuchel joined Chelsea in the winter of 2021 when the club was looking like a team that would not make it to the top four on the league table. However, the German tactician was able to work on the team in such a way that they were able to return to the top four before the 2020-2021 season ended.
To crown it up, in less than four months in charge of Chelsea, he led the London-based side to get to the final of the UEFA Champions League and beat coach Guardiola of Manchester City to win the prestigious European club title.
Later in 2021, he led Chelsea to play against Villarreal in the year’s 2021 UEFA Super Cup. Fortunately for the Premier League club, Tuchel and his boys won the title via penalty shootout.
In the ongoing 2021-2022 season, the 48-year-old German coach has been able to guide Chelsea to the second spot on the league table with 42 points in 20 games.
- Roberto Mancini of Italy
Roberto Mancini made his name as the manager of Inter Milan and Manchester City but now, the 57-year-old Italian coach is making his name as the head coach of Italy’s national team.
In 2021, Mancini had a fair year as he led Italy’s national team to the final of the European Championship (Euro 2020) without recording any defeat. His team beat England in the final in July 2021 via penalties to clinch the title.
Unfortunately for him, he could not give Italy an automatic qualification ticket for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He has however managed to qualify the team for the playoffs.
- Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool
The manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, has been one of the most consistent coaches in the world in the last five years. The 54-year-old German tactician has been able to build a team at Liverpool that is very difficult to defeat.
Although Jurgen Klopp was not able to win any major title with Liverpool, the German tactician was able to find a way of managing his squad well enough to finish in the league’s top four despite massive injury woes.
Klopp’s top players were left injured in most parts of the season and it was looking like the German would finish outside the top four but he was able to silence his doubters at the end of the 2020-2021 season.
So far this season, Jurgen Klopp and his players are occupying the 3rd spot on the league table with 41 points in 19 games.
