Just last week, Man City boss Pep Guardiola called Grealish one of the best players in the Premier League. With the midfielder managing to impress pretty much everyone with his form. The 24-year-old has been linked with a summer move to Manchester United, La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid. But it seems Grealish has since decided on his future, as he made known his intentions to stay in the Premier League and join Manchester United.
Grealish is reportedly determined that Manchester United is his No.1 destination. United was also rumored to be ready to drop £60 million for the Villa star over the summer. While sources close to Grealish have revealed that he has agreed to terms on a secret deal. But it seems like these terms may be coming to an end as new reports suggest United are ready to scrap the deal and bring back one of their former signees.
Manchester United are reportedly looking to resign Memphis Depay. Depay’s time at Old Trafford was short-lived from 2015-2017 due to his underperformance at the time. The forward is also a music artist and has seemed to rely on his music career as a backup to his woeful career at Manchester. While at Manchester he managed to score only seven goals in 53 appearances before moving to French club Lyon.
A £17m move away from England, saw the Netherlands international enjoy a much better streak in Ligue 1. Despite his recent injury of ligament tear ruling him out for the season, he has been able to impress his former club. Since leaving United, the Dutchman has since found his feet scoring 53 goals, 43 assists, in 134 appearances. This has since caught the eye of Solskjaer who is keen on rebuilding his squad over the summer. With Manchester City facing a UEFA champions League ban for two seasons, this will be the best time to rebuild and secure a top-four spot.
United brought in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in January in an attempt to secure a spot in the top four. If United are able to secure a spot, then this will play a major impact on the players that they can attract to the club over the summer. United are currently at seventh place with 35 points, six points adrift of Chelsea who they will face after the winter break on February 17.
