Manchester United are said to be getting ready to launch a bid of £50million for Wolves striker Diogo Jota this summer. United are said to be interested after the Portuguese international scored a hat-trick against Espanyol in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The 23-year-old has become the first player to score back-to-back hat-tricks in the Europa League since Schalke’s former striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar did so eight years ago. The Old Trafford boss is said to be desperate to find a striker who will take off some of the burdens on Marcus Rashford.

Having spent three seasons thus far at Molineux, the Portuguese striker formerly played for Nuno Espirito Santo at Porto. During his spell with Porto, he helped the club win a Championship title in his first season. Jota has scored 12 goals this season with nine of those goals coming out of Europe. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly pretty impressed by this and believes Jota is the solution to his side scoring problems.

Jota was previously linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer in a deal that was rumored to go wrong. However, Wolves, will not be letting go of their most prized assets so easily as Jota is still under contract for another three seasons. United, failed to secure a top-class striker in the past two transfer windows and have resulted in Odion Ighalo joining the squad on a temporary basis.

Manchester United is currently embroiled in a battle to finish top four this year. The Red Devils are currently battling Chelsea, Tottenham, and Sheffield United. United will take on Watford on Sunday as they look to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, former Aston Villa player Gabby Agbonlahor has advised Jack Grealish to reject a move to Manchester United. The former Aston Villa striker believes Grealish should wait for Liverpool FC to show interest in the Villa Captain.

Numerous reports suggest Grealish has agreed to terms on a secret deal.  The reports also claim Grealish has also reportedly gone house hunting in the Manchester area. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is currently in the market of building his midfield amid uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba’s future. Having seen United’s midfield suffer in the last two seasons, should Grealish join United, this would be good for United midfield being both Grealish and Bruno Fernandes bring something new and creative to the midfield.
