A mass brawl broke out on the stands during Arsenal Vs Manchester United preseason friendly at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.
While the match saw tempers flared between the players on the field, fans were also brawling bitterly on the stands.
In viral social media footage, fans could be seen engaging each other in a violent brawl which suddenly broke out while the match was on.
In the shocking footage, the brawling fans could be seen throwing strong punches and attacking each other with missiles.
One of the fan, donning an Arsenal shirt, attacked another fan wearing a black polo and jean, pulling his trousers and trying to raked off his shoe.
The victim responded, throwing a strong blow in the face of the assailant, leaving him injured. The pair then grappled themselves to the ground while still exchanging blows.
Just above the stairs, another set of fans who were trying to separate the warring parties saw themselves joining the brawl and exchanging deadly blows. A man nearly had his shorts pulled down as he attacked another fan, punching him hard and nearly ripping his shirts.
The brawl raged on for minutes before officials finally intervened and restored calm. Some fans who were caught in the mass brawl were escorted off the Stadium.
All these happened while the match was on. More details of the incident have shown the fight happened exclusively on Arsenal stand. While some fans who fought in the brawl were on muftis, most donned Arsenal shirts.
What led to the fight is still unknown as of the time of filing this report but there are hopes relevant authorities will swing into action to uncover the immediate and remote cause of the fight.
No casualty has been reported so far but a fan was left wounded after receiving a deadly punch in the face.
Tensions on the stands also seemed to have spilled into the pitch between Manchester United and Arsenal players. Manchester United defender, Lisandro Martinez, heated up play when he planted a strong tackle on Bukayo Saka.
Martin Odegaard fumed on the challenge and squared up with Lisandro Martinez. The pair nearly dueled before Raphael Varane and other players intervened.
Calm was restored with Martinez booked and Arsenal awarded a freekick after the rough challenge.
Manchester United won the game 2-0 after the final whistle despite playing second fiddle to Gunners in ball possession.
A quick first-half double from United new skipper Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho was enough to secure victory for the Red Devils.
