Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr future at the Ligue 1 giants has been up in the air for some time now. With Barcelona reportedly campaigning for their former star to make a return and Real Madrid interested in the winger as well, it’s no telling where the Brazilian may go after his contract expires. The forward became the highest-paid footballer with a transfer record of €222 million (£198 million) from Barcelona to PSG in August of 2017. The Brazilian who is a known boyhood fan of David Beckham has reportedly reached an agreement with MLS side Inter Miami over a prospective future transfer.

Reports swirled in after Neymar was pictured shaking hands with the former United player. The agreement in question won’t happen right away as Neymar is contracted to stay at PSG until 2022. Nevertheless, Neymar could be securing his place in the club’s future squad and planning his 5-10 year long term goal in advance.

In a discussion with David Beckham for YouTube channel OTRO, the Brazilian winger expressed his desire to move to Miami in the near future after Beckham opened up on his plans to recruit him. However, the former Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain legend jokingly told the PSG talisman that he would have to take a massive pay-cut in order for the ”dream move” to become reality.

Speaking Beckham said: “America has a huge opportunity because they have many other sports that are the number one, two, three-sport. Soccer now is growing very quickly and I think it’s a real opportunity for America to have great players there. I’m going to get you to sign a piece of paper after. A blank piece of paper. It’s going to be a contract for Miami, for ten years’ time. We’re not going to pay much…”

Neymar immediately accepted the offer, to which Beckham exclaimed: “Deal, you saw this!”

To fans delight, Neymar revealed he had already spoken to Beckham about a potential move in the future.

“I was the one who asked to play for his team,” he said.

“I want to. I told him already. I told him I will play there one day. I believe this is a great opportunity for the country to grow its soccer. As I said before, I already have my contract with David. A few years from now, I will be there.”

Neymar is currently in form for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain having hit the back of the net 14 times in 14 appearances. PSG is also currently on top of the Ligue 1 table and are 12 points clear of second-place Olympique de Marseille.
