Following a tussle with Napoli, the wantaway striker ultimately chose to end up at Galatasaray, the current holders of the Turkish Super Lig title.

Why Did Victor Osimhen Rejected The Offer From Chelsea?

Reports indicate that Osimhen rejected the advances of Chelsea after they failed to meet his wage demands.

Why Did Osimhen Not Join Al Ahli?

Victor Osimhen had also initially agreed to join Saudi Arabian giants Al Ahli, but the move couldn’t materialize after the Saudi Arabian club couldn’t reach an agreement with Napoli over a transfer fee.

    Victor Osimhen And Napoli

Following his inability to exit the club before the end of the transfer window in major leagues across Europe, Osimhen’s relationship with the Neapolitans apparently became shattered.

Subsequent reports emerged of Napoli excluding the striker from their Serie A squad for the season, a decision that generated different reactions after it became public.

He was ostracized from the first-team with his number 9 shirt unassigned to any player, although reports initially claimed it was handed to Romelu Lukaku but those speculations have been squashed, with the Belgian opting to wear the number 11 jersey.

Napoli Turn Their Attention To Romelu Lukaku, Uninterested In Victor Osimhen

The Naples-based club have seemingly turned their attention away from Victor Osimhen and are now fixated on life with Lukaku as the go-to man when they need goals.

Interestingly, Romelu Lukaku netted on his debut for Antonio Conte’s side, as they came back from behind to defeat Parma by 2-1 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

    Victor Osimhen Joins Galatasaray

Until Tuesday, September 2, 2024, when reports came to the fore about Galatasaray agreeing on a loan deal with Napoli for Victor Osimhen, the footballer’s future appeared to be in limbo.

Ultimately, Galatasaray officially secured the services of the former Lille man on loan on September 3, 2024, and as aforementioned that has cooled down tension surrounding his future.

Well, there are pertinent questions that need answers and it is regarding the Victor Osimhen transfer saga.

Victor Osimhen Transfer Saga: Napoli, Galatasaray, Agent Calanda, and Osimhen, Who Are the Losers and Winners?

This article intends to X-ray who are the losers and winners in the deal, between Galatasaray, his agent Roberto Calanda and Victor Osimhen himself.

The primary prism of viewing this transfer basically shows that all parties involved are winners, why?

    Victor Osimhen – Winner

The 25-year-old was keen on leaving Napoli for football elsewhere whilst either retaining his current wage or earning higher.

His wishes have been granted, with Napoli and Galatasaray funding his wage, and it appears Osimhen has also made some alterations to his contract.

Victor Osimhen’s release clause has been reduced to €75 million, meaning he could get a move to a bigger club once a club meets that fee.

Chelsea, alongside other Premier League clubs, are understood to be interested in the striker and could go for him, seeing that his release clause has been reduced.

    Napoli – Winner

The Neapolitans do not want to keep an unhappy player within the ranks, and having signed Romelu Lukaku, Osimhen’s lofty wage looked like a bone in their throat.

Victor Osimhen’s move to Napoli would see them get rid of him temporarily, alongside not paying the entirety of his wage demands, as it has been split proportionally with Galatasaray.

    Galatasaray – Winner

The Turkish side was not initially in the picture to sign the Nigerian; however, upon the inability of either Chelsea or Al Ahli to sign the attacker, they made their intentions known.

Osimhen is seen as one of the best players in the world; he is known for his elite finishing, pace, strength, and athleticism. Galatasaray are certainly happy to have him within their ranks for the coming months.

Their delight can be felt in how the fans reacted to the footballer’s arrival, as they trooped out in mass to welcome the goal machine.

Roberto Calenda (Osimhen’s Agent) – Undefined

There isn’t much information available to ascertain if his agent is losing or winning, as we will be dealing with much conjecture.

Rumor has it that Victor Osimhen has discontinued his relationship with Calenda, and as such, it is difficult to tell if the Italian had a hand in this deal.

However, Roberto Calenda possibly also wasn’t productive during this transfer window, as it is baffling that a striker of the caliber of Osimhen couldn’t get a club and a good deal before the window closed in top leagues across Europe.

This resulted in the footballer making last-minute moves in search of clubs where he would ply his trade, with speculations even claiming that the footballer personally brokered his move to Galatasaray.

The influence of Calenda in the deal between Osimhen and Chelsea or Al Ahli is also unknown, and as such, it is difficult to give a standpoint on whether he is a loser or a winner in the transfer saga.

Hopefully, Victor Osimhen will delineate brilliance at Galatasaray, in order to secure a dream move to whichever club he desires.
