The Premier League has stopped Burnley’s attempt to sign Victor Moses from Spartak Moscow which is seen as a big blow to the football career of the versatile footballer.

Due to the crisis between Russia and Ukraine, there is a special dispensation for foreign footballers contracted to clubs in Ukraine and Russia to join other clubs outside the warring countries.

FIFA gave the players this opportunity because football leagues have been put on hold in the two countries due to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia’s troops. Hence, the world football governing body suspended the contracts of foreign professional footballers in the two countries.

This means that all the foreign players in the two countries are free to join any club that is interested in them for the rest of the 2021-2022 season.

Just like many other foreign players currently stuck in Russia, Victor Moses needs a new club so that he could continue with his professional football career.

There are reports that Victor Moses left his immediate family in England when he joined Spartak Moscow from Chelsea on July 1, 2021, for a transfer fee worth €5 million.

Hence, Burnley decided to make effort to bring the former Nigeria international to the club. Burnley that are currently sitting on the 19th spot with 21 points in 27 games sees the 31-year-old right midfielder as an asset that can help them to fight for survival.

But the Premier League board felt that the move was against the sporting integrity of the league. Hence, the move has been blocked.

Since Victor Moses joined Spartak Moscow permanently in 2021, the 31-year-old versatile footballer has played 26 games in all competitions in which he scored 2 goals and provided four assists.

His contract with the Russian side was expected to expire on June 30, 2024. At the time of publishing this report, no reports have confirmed how much Moses has been earning since he moved to Russia.

However, before he left Chelsea, Victor Moses was reportedly earning £3,900,000 per year.
