Uruguayan Midfilder Valverde is Real Madrid’s Top-Scorer in All Competitions This Season

    Valverde made headlines as he scored a stunning left-foot strike in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu to emerge as Real Madrid’s top scorer after 11 La Liga and 4 Champions League games.

    Los Blancos extended their lead on top of the La Liga table after the 3-1 win, but the 24-year-old Uruguayan midfielder secured his sixth goal of the season for Los Blancos.

    He is currently the team’s highest goal scorer, and for the first time since joining the La Liga giants, he has scored in three successive matches for the club.

    In a crunch tie against Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano stadium, Valverde scored his third goal as the Los Blancos cruised to a 2-1 victory over the Diego Simeone side.

    His fourth goal came against Barcelona in the El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu before increasing his tally to fifth in the game against Elche.

    The goal against Sevilla was his sixth of the season after 11 matches, beating the likes of Karim Benzema, Vinicius, and Rodrygo to be the highest scorer in all competitions.

    Federico Santiago Valverde Dipetta is a professional football player playing in the central midfield role for La Liga giants Real Madrid and the Uruguayan national team.

    Born on 22 July 1998 in Montevideo, Uruguay, Valverde is known for his high work rate and flexibility.

    His versatility makes him amenable to various playing positions like the right-back position, defensive midfield, and right-wing position.

    Valverde started his youth career with Estudiantes de la Unión in 2001 till 2008, before joining Peñarol youth team in
    2008.

    He played for Real Madrid youth for a year before returning to Penarol for his first senior career in 2015.

    He made 12 appearances for Penarol, before joining Real Madrid B between 2016 and 2017, where he made 30 appearances and scored three goals.

    In 2017, Valverde went on a season-long loan deal to Deportivo La Coruna where he made 24 appearances.

    Valverde made his first senior team appearance for Real Madrid in 2017 and has made a total of 115 appearances with 11 goals.

    He made his first national team appearance in 2017 and has been capped 44 times, with 4 goals to his credit.

    He won the Primera Division with Penarol. He has won the Supercopa de Espana, La Liga, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup with Real Madrid.

    He has also won the La Liga player of the month, including several other individual awards.

    Valverde is reportedly in a relationship with Mina Bonino, a presenter and journalist from Argentina. They have a 2-year-old son, Bernicio born on February, 2022.
