Transfer Deadline Day: Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig defender Mohamed Simakan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano confirmed this in the wee hours of Friday, August 30 on his X account stating: “Mohamed Simakan to Al Nassr, here we go! Deal agreed on five year contract for CB to join from RB Leipzig with Geertruida as replacement.”

The 24-year-old French centre-back will travel to Saudi Arabia tomorrow to complete his medical in bid to finalize the move.

Romano added: “Despite links with PL clubs, only Al Nassr in concrete talks with Leipzig as exclusively revealed two days ago. Medical in 24/48h.”

Al Nassr had previously agreed to a €45m deal with RB Leipzig, with personal terms now settled.

Meanwhile, Simakan had been a target for top clubs including FC Barcelona, but the Catalan club were deterred by Leipzig’s initial €50m valuation.

Leipzig have seemingly softened their stance, allowing Al Nassr to secure the highly sought-after defender.

This transfer marks a significant addition to Cristiano Ronaldo’s side, bringing in a solution to their defense weakness with a talented and coveted player.
