Making an attempt on goal from a long distance seems to be an attribute of some Manchester United players since the beginning of the Barclays Premier League in 1992.

These Manchester United players hit the ball from superb distance to score goals against their opponents in the Premier League.

Here are the long range distance goals scored by Manchester United players since 2006/07 Premier League Season

1. Wayne Rooney vs. West Ham (49.6 yards)

Manchester United’s all-time highest goal scorer, Wayne Rooney, scored from a long distance against West Ham on March 22, 2014. He spotted that West Ham goalkeeper Andrian was off his line, and he decided to loop the shot high and down the net.

Manchester United won the match 2-0, with Wayne Rooney scoring two goals in the match.

2. Bruno Fernandes vs. Liverpool (44.6 yards)

The Portuguese midfielder hit the ball from a distance against Liverpool in the Premier League. The Manchester United captain pounded on the loose ball from Jarell Quansah.

His distance goal helped Manchester United recover from a slumpy start against the Reds. However, Manchester United failed to defeat Liverpool despite going ahead in the second half of the game.

3. Juan Mata vs. Stoke City (39.9 yards)

The Spaniard scored an exceptional free kick against Stoke City on December 2, 2014. Mata’s free kick evaded everybody to register Manchester United’s winning goal against Stoke City in the 59th minute.

Marcos Rojo initially claimed the ball, but Juan Mata’s free kick did not touch anyone on the way to the net.

4. Scott McTominay vs. Manchester City (37.8 yards)

McTominay scored one of the most spectacular goals in the Manchester Derby on March 8, 2020. The Scottish pounced on Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson’s throw to hit the ball from 37.8 yards.

Scott McTominay’s shot from outside the box was similar to Bruno Fernandes goal against Liverpool and Edinson Cavani’s goal against Fulham on May 19, 2021.

Manchester United won at the end of the game to complete the double over Manchester City that season.

5. Tom Cleverly vs. Newcastle (36.3 yards)

The former Manchester United midfielder scored a spectacular goal against the Magpies on October 7, 2012.

Cleverly received the ball from Wayne Rooney and bent it into the top corner of the goal post, with the goalkeeper having no chance of stopping the ball.

The Red Devils defeated Newcastle by three goals to nil. The Red Devils were already 2-0 ahead in the first 15 minutes, and they finished up the game with a clever shot from Tom Cleverly from outside the box.
