The 2021 Summer transfer window has been up and running for over three weeks and a club might likely succeed in making a player one of the most expensive transfers in the world.
Currently, there are five players in the world of football that were bought for over £110 million. And they make up the list of the most expensive transfers in the world.
Since the 2021 summer transfer window opened, there have been talks that showed that there is a huge potential that a player might break into the top five of the most expensive players in the world.
Two players who are most likely to break into the top five of the most expensive transfers this summer include Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur and Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund.
Recall that Chelsea have shown interest in Erling Haaland but Dortmund are not willing to sell. However, there are reports that if Chelsea are willing to pay over £150 million for his services this summer, the 21-year-old Norwegian striker might switch to the Premier League club.
If that happens, Haaland will break into the top five list of the most expensive transfers in the history of the game.
In the same vein, Manchester City bid £100 million for the services of Kane but Tottenham reportedly rejected the bid. However, there are reports that if Manchester City can pay £160 million for his services, he could move to City.
With such a transfer fee, Kane could be one of the five most expensive transfers in the history of the game if the deal scale through.
