Premier League managers have the most difficult jobs in the world, with the League being known for excessive sacking of underperforming managers over the years.

In the 2024–25 Premier League season, football club owners have made significant improvements in their respective squads. They are looking forward to seeing their teams perform beyond average this season.

Any manager who failed to deliver the necessary results after the huge investment by owners in the squad will be shown the exit door.

These are the Premier League managers that are likely to be sacked in the 2024–25 Premier League season.

1. Enzo Maresca (Chelsea)

Former Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca is likely to lose his job before the end of the season. Chelsea have only won one game in the last seven matches (including pre-season games), which has been a huge concern for the board.

In the 86th minute of the Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester City on Sunday, August 18, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly left Stamford Bridge with anger and wasn’t interested in watching the game till the end after the club conceded the second goal in the 2-0 defeat.

Chelsea Football Club is not a place where managers will be allowed to continue coaching when the club suffers a run of bad results.

The club board will decide to sack Maresca if another world-class manager becomes available.

2. Steve Cooper (Leicester City)

Former Nottingham Forest manager Cooper is likely to be sacked before the end of the season if Leicester City don’t perform beyond expectations.

Cooper’s first competitive match is against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. He needs to start getting results against big teams like Spurs.

He also needs to show tactical strength against lesser teams in the Premier League to stay on the job.

3. Erik Ten Hag (Manchester United)

Since Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United, the club have failed to return to the glory days where they were famously recognized as the biggest club in England.

Managers who have coached the club have failed to win the Premier League and the Champions League.

The 2023–24 season was the worst in Manchester United history, with many records scattered because of consistent injuries and horrible decisions made by Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag.

Before Ten Hag was offered a new contract by Manchester United, the club were heavily discussing with other managers.

The new Manchester United hierarchy have given the manager the set of players he wants.

If he doesn’t make the team perform beyond expectations, the INEOS won’t be reluctant to sack him.

4. Nuno Espirito Santos (Nottingham Forest)

The Nottingham Forest manager, Santos, has not made the team perform beyond expectations in the Premier League since last season

Last season, Nottingham Forest won five out of 19 Premier League games. They were on the verge of relegating, but they finished in 17th place.

The Forest hierarchy won’t take the risk of seeing their club struggle for another Premier League stay and may make a huge decision of sacking the manager.

5. Julen Lopetegui (West Ham United)

West Ham United’s performance against Aston Villa in the 2024-25 Premier League opener was not encouraging.

The manager will be shown the exit door if the club performance does not improve in the coming games.
