The Los Blancos dropped points for the second time this season in La Liga after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Girona at the Santiago Bernabeu.

After a barren first-half draw, which saw the visitors held the Los Blancos to a goalless half, Vinicius jr broke the goal deadlock in the 70th minute to give the team the lead.

However, Girona scored an equaliser ten minutes later after Stuani converted a spot kick to level the game.

The Los Blancos did not only settle for a disappointing outcome against the less-fancied Girona side but were reduced to ten men in the 90+1 minutes after Toni Kroos was sent off for the first time in his club career after 775 appearances.

The German midfielder Toni Kroos received the first red card of his career.

He had brought down Yan Couto with a cynical challenge to prevent the Brazilian from escaping down the line.

In the 92nd minute, as Real Madrid pushed for the winner, Kroos shut down another attack before it could get started and was given his first red card of his football career.

It took him until the age of 32 to receive a red card but when it came, he took it with a wry smile.

Throughout his career, which started in his home country, German and with Bayern Munich, and then to Real Madrid, the highly-rated midfielder has made 775 appearances before seeing red in his 776th professional game.
