Holland applauded the sport and notably confirming that he prefers it to any other version of sports that is played globally.

When speaking about the sport, he said: “Is American Football better than football? Football is the greatest sport of all time. I mean it is the world sport.”

Holland might be a movie star but he has shown that he is also a fan of good football as he usually turns up for some matches.

Funny enough, Tom Holland is a fan of English top-flight side Tottenham Hotspurs in the Premier League.

This is quite funny owing to the fact that there are several clubs that are way better than Spurs in the league but Holland chose them.

Holland confirmed his affiliation with the Lilywhites by revealing that he grew up in the Greater London area and stating that he would love to witness a Tottenham vs Brentford Champions League final because his Uncle is a Brentford fan.

Speaking to GQ, before alluding to Tottenham’s less-than-ideal form, Holland said: “I want to see Tottenham play Brentford, because Tottenham’s my team and Brentford is my uncle’s team.”

“Well, right now we probably wouldn’t beat Brentford, but I fancy our chances,” he concluded.

Tom Holland is also a big fan of England national team and did speak against the racist abuse that was directed at Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, after they missed penalties during the Euro 2020 final against Italy.

The actor in solidarity took to his Instagram page to write: “The people abusing any England players are the only people who have let anyone down. Their behaviour – the people who beat up the Italian fan and the a**holes hurling racist abuse is despicable.”

“You are not my countrymen. These players deserve nothing but respect. They’ve given us so much in such a difficult time and they should be held up like kings not kicked while they are down. To Saka, Rashford and Sancho, you had the bravery to step up. You guys are three lions and all decent Englishmen are proud of you and the whole team and staff and we will support you again come the World Cup.”

Aside football, Holland is also a fan of F1 race as he was seen enjoying himself over the weekend at Monaco Grand Prix together with Neymar.

The following year, Holland received the BAFTA Rising Star Award and became the youngest actor to play a title role in an MCU film in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The sequels Far From Home (2019) and No Way Home (2021) each grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, and the latter became the highest-grossing film of the year.

What Is The Difference Between Football And American Football?

The British call their favorite sport “football,” but the Americans use the same name to refer to the most popular sport in their country—hence the use of “soccer” when referring to the first British football.

However, watching sports such as the Premier League or the National Football League’s (NFL) Super Bowl reveals how different these sports are.

The major difference between the two sports include the scoring pattern – Football records goals while American football records points.

Also, the pitch varies as well as the ball used, the players, the gears, the tournaments as well as international institutions.
