Lionel Messi is yet to decide on his future while he continues to negotiate on a way forward with PSG. There are speculations he might exit the club when his contract expire this summer.

PSG on the other hand has stated that their wish is to keep Messi at the Parc des Princes, despite Barcelona wanting the Argentine back.

These rumours have left PSG fans frustrated to the extent that they were booing and whistling as Messi’s name was read out ahead of Ligue 1 clash with Lyon.

Henry who was asked about his take on the situation, as he was a pundit for PSG’s clash against Lyon on Sunday, he said that Messi is being treated unjustly.

“It’s embarrassing to hear whistles from the Parc. You can’t whistle one of the best players on the team, who has 13 goals and 13 assists this season,” as reported by Amazon Prime.

“Personally, I would like to see him finish his career at Barcelona, in Europe.”

“After that, I don’t know what he will do. Because the way he left Barcelona after everything he did… I didn’t really like it.”

“For the love of football, he should go back to Barcelona.”

Lionel Messi might wait until the end of the season to make his decision, as his contract ends in June.

In the meantime, Messi is focussed on helping PSG win Ligue 1 title after a painful UCL exit amidst boos from the club’s fans.

Thierry Daniel Henry was born on 17th August 1977 and he is a French professional football coach, pundit, and former player.

Henry is considered one of the best strikers of all time, one of the best players to play in the Premier League and also, Arsenal F.C’s greatest player of all time.

Henry moved to Barcelona in 2007 after a turn of unexpected events. The transfer fee then was €24 million.

He signed a 4-and-half-year-deal for an alleged €6.8 (£4.6) million per season. It was later revealed that the contract included a release clause of €125 (£84.9) million.

In Barcelona, he played with Lionel Messi alongside other notable players such as Samuel Eto’o, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez.

Before leaving Barcelona where he spent almost his entire football career to PSG in 2021, he helped the club win a record 34 trophies, including 10 La Liga titles, Seven Copa Del Rey and Four Champions Leagues.

Though Messi coming back to Barcelona for another stint doesn’t mean he will be able to replicate half of these, but his presence in the team will boost a lot of confidence.

While former teammate Gerard Pique thinks this is not a good move by Barcelona as Messi might be the same as before, Henry on the other hands wants Messi to retire at Barcelona where he would not be targeted as they do in France.
