Steven Gerrard, the manager of Scottish Premiership side, Rangers, has declared that the league title he won with Rangers this season is the first of many of his fast-rising managerial career.

Steven Gerrard landed his first major title as a football coach after leading Rangers to conquer the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, March 7, 2021, making it a record 55 times that the club has won a league title.

The 40-year-old former Liverpool midfielder became the manager of Rangers in 2018 when the club was struggling in the league. He began the rebuilding process of the club by signing a couple of players which he put together to challenge Celtic for the title for two seasons without success.

But in the 2020-2021 season, fans of football, especially those who follow the Scottish Premiership saw another form of Rangers who dominated the league from the start of the season until date.

So far this season, Steven Gerrard and his men have played a total number of 32 games in the league, out of the games, they have recorded 28 victories and 4 draws. They were declared the winners of the league after defeating 6th placed St Mirren 3-0 on Saturday, March 6, 2021.

This means that Steven Gerrard and his men were declared champions of the Scottish Premiership without losing any game in the league. They also won the league with 6 league games remaining.

They currently have 88 points in 32 games, 20 points more than second-placed Celtic. No club in the league has ever won the league title so early in the season.

Besides being the first time in 10 years that Rangers won the Scottish Premiership, the club successfully stopped Celtic from winning the 10th successive league title.

In his reaction after Rangers were declared champions of the league, the former England international and Liverpool legend said: “It is very difficult to put into words right now. I’m on a real, emotional high and it has been a journey that is not finished.

“There is more to come and the next thing for me, when you win, it is always about what is next, and I am so proud of the players first and foremost – they are the most important people inside the club.

“But they are not as important as the supporters – they are what makes this club and it is for them and we have been down at times, really low at times, but this is an incredible high.”

    Rangers celebrate their 55th league.

Steven Gerrard and his men scored a total number of 77 goals and conceded just 9 goals before they were declared champions of the Premiership.

Just like they are performing wonders in the league, so are they been doing wonders in the Europa League. Rangers have remained very consistent in Europa this season that they are currently in the round of 16. They will play their first leg of the round against Slavia Praha on March 11 at 18:55.

Due to Steven Gerrard’s performance with Rangers, he has been touted to be the replacement for the embattled manager of Liverpool football club, Jurgen Klopp. But it is yet to been seen how long the board of Liverpool would continue to be patient with the struggling German tactician.
