England player of Nigerian descent, Tammy Abraham has rejected a new contract with Chelsea because he wants an increment to match up the club’s top earners. Tammy Abraham is no doubt one of the hottest strikers in EPL this season. The youngster returned to Stanford Bridge after his loan deal expired with Aston Villa in the summer. Fortunately, Chelsea’s new boss, Frank Lampard saw some great prospects in the youngster and decided to give him a trial.

Reasonably, Tammy Abraham has proved his worth to the club by being the highest goal scorers and winning several medals to his credit, being one of the best as he is, he surely wants a bigger pay as compensation for his hurdle in the club. It would be recalled that Hudson-Odoi recently signed a new contract with Chelsea that posed him to be one of the top earners in the club. Odoi’s new contract gave him a whopping sum of £180k weekly which is no doubt a good weekly pay for a teenager.

In the same vein, Tammy Abraham has got his motivation from Hudson-Odoi’s new contract with the Blues. Now, it is either the club pay him what he’s worth or he finds a next available club willing to pay him well, until then, he won’t sign a new contract with Chelsea. Though he still has two years left on his contract, Chelsea wants him to follow the footsteps of Reece James, Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Billy Gilmour in signing a new deal.

Before Abraham’s injury, he has appeared in over 25 matches for Chelsea and he has scored over 13 goals which ranked him to be the club’s top scorer for the season yet to be completed. Tammy has won several awards in his short while in Chelsea, he has won the young player of the year at the London awards for his outstanding performance in his first Premier League campaign for Chelsea.
