Steven Gerrard has continued to blend into his new environment as he was captured all dressed up for the Saudi National Day.
Steven Gerrard, the head coach of Al-Ettifaq, was captured smiling in the traditional Saudi wear thawb and chequered headdress.
The former Aston Villa manager also posed for a video together with other men in the club’s stadium, and one can see the excitements.
Cristiano Ronaldo also appeared in a video alongside his Al-Nassr teammates wielding a sword and donning traditional dress.
Steven Gerrard has led the Saudi Pro League team to three wins in their last three games with their last game ending in a 4-3 win.
The match saw a dramatic come-back to win Al-Ta’ee thanks to goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Moussa Dembele.
The video, which is a self-congratulatory snap released by the club, featured Gerrard and others with the narrator saying: “There is something implanted in us. Dreams come true.”
“It’s no illusion,” the video claimed. ‘We see it with the eyes of faith in our homeland, certain of it with our persistence and determination. Our determination is vast, our sight stretched by our passion.”
“Ambition beyond space and time, supported by our work. There is something known about us. We dream and achieve.”
The video that captured Steven Gerrard was posted on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Saudis, we have ambition and we have a dream. The impossible is achieved for us.”
The Englishman still has lots of love for his former club Liverpool, where he spent the majority of his career and made memories.
In a video posted by The Anfield Wrap on TikTok, Gerrard revealed that he was ‘devastated’ to have left Liverpool just months before Jurgen Klopp joined.
Speaking on his departure, he said: “I was devastated. I obviously made a decision not to sign a year extension to go to America, whereas if I’d took the extension, I might have got six months under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.”
“But obviously being under Brendan’s management at the time, I was getting told my game time was gonna get less and less,” Steven Gerrard added.
Steven Gerrard continued: “I didn’t wanna be a sub for Liverpool, I didn’t wanna be a squad player. I still felt that I was the best midfielder there at the time.”
“But in hindsight, if I’d have knew what was gonna come off, 100%, I’d have signed the year extension, and I’d have put up with four to five months of Brendan to get six months of Klopp, for sure.”
The Englishman enjoyed a successful career with Liverpool, scoring 185 goals in 700 matches and leading them as captain to the famous Champions League final in 2005.
