While Ratcliffe aimed for a partial ownership, Shiekh Jassim aimed for a full takeover of the club – a move that was popular with Manchester United fans who wanted an end to the Glazers’ 17 years reign of rot and degradation.

In a shock twist to the takeover race, Ratcliffe’s £1.4bn partial ownership bid seems to have resonated with the Glazers when Shiekh Jassim’s £5.5bn full takeover bid has been turned down.

Sheikh bowed out of Man United takeover race as tahe Glazers refused to budge on their £6bn valuation of the club.

According to reports from Transfer Live, Shiekh Jassim has sent a letter to Glazers blasting their handling of Manchester United takeover. According to the report, Shiekh Jassim took a swipe on the Glazers for not willing to sell the club but only using him to inflate price and sell it to his rival.

Ratcliffe wants a partial ownership of Manchester United that will see him control the club’s sporting/football operations while Sheikh Jassim wanted a full takeover that will wipe off the presence of the Glazers from the club.
