A disturbing trend has emerged in Spanish football, with several players using sexual consent contracts to protect themselves from potential allegations of rape and assault.
This revelation comes from Miguel Angel Galan, the head of the Spanish School for the Education of Managers, who claims that some footballers are now regularly employing these contracts.
Galan, a prominent figure in Spanish football politics, has shared a sample consent form on his social media account, which outlines the terms of sexual activity between two parties.
The prominent figure, Galan, took to his X, formerly Twitter to reveal this shocking development backing it up with pictures of the alleged sex consent form.
He shed more light on the absurd consent form during a talk show with a Spanish TV where he revealed he is aware that two players in LaLiga and one in the third division are using this form.
In addition, the political guru also expressed reservations about alternative methods of consent used, sparking a wider conversation about the need for comprehensive education and awareness in football.
In his mind-blowing talk session on the Spanish programme ‘En boca de todos’, Galan said: ‘I received this type of contract from a foreign footballer, so I suspect that they are used in other countries, under another law. I think that a contract like this has no place.’
Meanwhile, this development follows the recent arrest and release of Valencia forward Rafa Mir, who spent two nights in police custody after being accused of sexual assault.
However, Mir denied the allegations and was released on bail with conditions, including surrendering his passport and a restraining order.
