UEFA has ordered Sevilla Football Club to compensate for the damaged Manchester City team bus. Sevilla fans damaged the bus ahead of Manchester City Champions League matchup against Sevilla which ended in a 4-0 smashing of the Spanish club at home.
Additionally, Sevilla has been penalized by Uefa with a fine of 5,000 euros (£4,392) for the incident which took place on September 6 hours before the kick-off of the Champions League match.
Along with Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund was also penalized by UEFA for damage fans made to the Ethiad stadium in Manchester when they played a Champions League group match there on September 14, 2022.
Borussia Dortmund and Copenhagen Have Been Compiled by the UEFA to pay £35,000 each because of the trouble caused by the fans when the two clubs met on September 6, 2022.
Other Clubs That Were Fined By UEFA and The Reasons
Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Celtic was penalized 15,000 euros by UEFA for flying a controversial banner during their Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
During their 4-1 victory against Liverpool on September 7, 2022 in the Champions League encounter.Napoli’s fans blocked public hallways and used a laser pen, for which they were fined a total of £14,000.
Arsenal football club were not left out of the fining spray issued by UEFA. The in form Premier League side were fined £4,392 for a pitch invasion during their match at FC Zurich on September 8, 2022.
Note that Arsenal ended the match with a 2-0 victory and are currently on top of the Group with nine points from three matches.
FC Zurich of Switzerland were also penalized for the same incident of pitch invasion and were fined a whopping amount of £20,415.
What Next For Manchester City and Sevilla
Sevilla, which is currently in 18th place in La Liga, will travel to Mallorca on October 15, 2022, where a win is compulsory to move away from the relegation zone and to kick off their season from there.
With the appointment of a new manager, a win is expected in the match. Sevilla need to find the highest level of consistency and bring in the best formation on the table to forge ahead.
Manchester City will travel to Liverpool on October 16, 2022, for the biggest game of the season. Manchester City have failed to lose any game this season and are the team to beat.
Manchester City are currently in second place and a win on October 16, 2022 will move them to where they have always belonged, and that is on top of the table.
Liverpool are currently in the 10th position in the Premier League table and failed the last match because of poor officiating. Liverpool will come out with all their strength to play the match and make sure they win.
