Real Madrid Legend Sergio Ramos has revealed that he almost joined Premier League side Manchester United back in 2014.
Sergio Ramos also revealed that his father was a big fan of Manchester United and he almost left Real Madrid for the English side.
The Real Madrid legend has won 22 trophies in his footballing career which include LaLiga, Champions League as well as the World Cup.
The Spaniard is currently plying his trade with La Liga side Sevilla, the same club he started his professional footballing career.
As per The Sun, Sergio Ramos said: “Yes, I was close to playing for United. My father is a great fan of that team, but I stayed where I should, Real Madrid.”
“Despite everything, I maintain my admiration for the club, for the Premier League, and for its players, because the pace of play is different, and it is a league from which we can all learn a lot.”
He went on to add: “I was happy to stay in Madrid, and now I am happy to be in Seville.”
Recall we reported that the former Spain captain rejected a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League this summer to return to Sevilla.
Speaking on that, Sergio Ramos said: “Sevilla gave me everything. They trained me as a footballer, to be able to play for the first time in the First Division, and since then there is something that I feel from within.”
Sergio Ramos continued: “I have felt these colors. When I was asked to return home, this was my first option because I wanted to return to close a cycle. I wanted to see that all the love I feel for people is reciprocated.”
He added: “It has been an unforgettable moment for me and this is something I would recommend to anyone who started his career in his hometown.”
“I am enjoying it every day, every training session and every game.”

Sergio Ramos Garcia is a football player from Spain who was born on March 30, 1986, and last played for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain as a center-back.
Ramos was a defender for Real Madrid for sixteen seasons, winning four UEFA Champions League titles, two UEFA European Championships, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup with his country.
The former Spanish international is well known for his combative play, he is recognized as one of the greatest defenders of all time.
Ramos joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2005 after spending two seasons with the senior team and progressing through Sevilla’s development academy.
Since then, he has established himself as a staple for Real Madrid, winning 22 significant awards, including five La Liga championships and four UEFA Champions League crowns.
He also developed into one of the league’s best goal-scorers from a defensive position when he was at Real Madrid.
