The manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the club’s forward, Gabriel Jesus is back to training but Sergio Aguero is still out injured.

Guardiola who stated this ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League match against Olympiakos scheduled for Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium revealed that he is expecting Aguero to be fully fit after FIFA international break this November.

“I feel sure after the international break he will be better,” Guardiola said.

“He’s getting better but I don’t know. We don’t want him to have a setback but he’s getting better.”

The Argentine striker sustained a hamstring injury against West Ham on October 24 in a Premier League match that ended 1-1. The injury came a few days after recovering from a knee injury that kept him out of football for four months.

This means that the 32-year-old striker will miss Manchester City’s Champions League match against Olympiakos on Tuesday and the club’s Premier League match against Liverpool on November 8.

Sergio Aguero will only have the opportunity of returning to active football on November 21 in Manchester City’s first Premier League match after the FIFA break. The match is against Tottenham Hotspur.

On the other hand, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Jesus has returned to training but failed to confirm whether the player will be fit enough for the club’s Champions League match on Tuesday.

“It’s too early to know”, Pep Guardiola said when asked whether he will feature in the club’s Tuesday’s game. “He did one training session with the team. We’re happy he is back.”

The Brazilian striker has been out with a muscle injury since late September. The last time he played a competitive match for Manchester City was on September 21 in a league match against Wolves which ended 1-3 in favor of City. He scored the third goal of the match which was the first and only goal of his only league match this season.

Manchester City won their first two UEFA Champions League matches against Porto and Marseille which kept them on top of Group C. A victory on Tuesday’s game will cement the club’s first spot standing on the group table.
