Manchester United new manager Ruben Amorim has become the fourth highest paid manager in the Premier League.
The head coach is expected to take home £6.5 million every season at Manchester United. Amorim’s wages fee is less than that of Erik Ten Hag, who was paid £6.75 million yearly at Old Trafford.
Previously, Ten Hag wages were around £9 million, but there was a pay cut after Manchester United failed to qualify for the 2024-25 Champions League.
The 39-year-old Portuguese manager will replace Erik Ten Hag at the Manchester United dugout and will kick-start his tenure on November 11, 2024.
The Manchester United side paid a whopping amount of £8.3 million for the manager’s release clause.
Amorim has signed a three-year contract with the club, and it is expected to end on June 30, 2027. The manager has an option to extend the deal for extra year.
Pep Guardiola still remains the highest-paid manager in the Premier League. He earns a whopping £20 million every season.
The next manager on the list of highest-paid managers is Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard takes home £10 million, while Aston Villa’s Unai Emery falls in the next place with a £8 million salary per year.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot received £6.2 million in terms of wages per year. Sean Dyche falls in the next line with a take-home of £5 million.
He earns the same amount with Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou.
Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner earn £4.5 million each every season. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca earns £4.2 million every season.
Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe and Fulham’s Marco Silva earn £4 million, respectively. West Ham manager, Julen Lopetegui, who is currently under pressure, earns £3.4 million.
Ipswich Town manager, Kieran McKenna, who helped the former Championship side secure promotion to the Premier League, earns £3 million.
Portuguese manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who is currently the manager of Nottingham Forest, earns £2 million.
Struggling Wolves manager Gary O’Neil earns £1.5 million. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is the lowest-paid manager in the Premier League.
He received £1 million every season. The salaries of Brighton’s Fabian Hurzeler, Leicester City’s Steve Cooper, and Southampton’s Russell Martin are currently unknown.
