Richarlison and Vinicius Junior could not control their tempers while on international duty with Brazil’s national team as they decided to fight dirty in training.

Ahead of the Friendly game between Brazil and Japan scheduled to take place on Monday, June 6, 2022 pictures surfaced from Brazil’s camp showing the two Brazilian footballers going physical against each other.

In one of the pictures, Vinicius Junior who plays for Real Madrid was seen holding tight to Richarlison‘s training kit. The 25-year-old Everton striker also held tight to the Madrid winger.

They were not allowed to battle it out alone, the country’s veteran defender, Dani Alves was on hand to help ease the tension while Neymar was seen arriving at the scene.

Futballnews gathered that the fight between Richarlison and Vinicius took place during Brazil’s national team training on Saturday, two days before the country’s friendly match against Japan at Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.

At the time of publishing of this report, it was not clear what led to the fight between Richarlison and Vinicius and there is no known history of rancor between the two players.

However, there is a joke on social media that Richarlison got angry with Vinicius because the Real Madrid winger told him that Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku is better than him.

Below is the joke as tweeted by @thefootyarena:

Richarlison on why he and Vinicius got in a fight in training: “He said I can’t win the Champions League, I kept quiet. He said I’m overrated, and I kept quiet. He said Everton will get relegated next season, I kept quiet. But then he said Lukaku is better than me, that’s when I lost it.”

Futballnews gathered that Richarlison who struggled to save Everton from being relegated in May 2022, took to his Instagram page to congratulate Vinicius who won the 2022 UEFA Champions League in May 28, 2022.

This means that the 21-year-old Brazilian winger probably had an issue with Richarlison during the ongoing international break which serves as a medium for Brazil to prepare for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

As it stands, it will be interesting to see whether coach Tite will start Richarlison and Vinicius together in the forthcoming friendly game against Japan. It will also be interesting to see whether the highly publicized rancor between the two players would affect Brazil’s preparations for the World Cup.

In a press conference recently, coach Tite said the Brazil national team doesn’t rely on Neymar to win the FIFA World Cup, adding that the country now has a new generation of players coming through for the team.

The leaders of the coming generation ought to be Vinicius and Richarlison which means that the coach would be left troubled that the generation he is building the team on has two players that might find it difficult to coexist in the team.
