Raphael Guerreiro has departed from Borussia Dortmund to join Bayern Munich after his contract expired.
The deal has been finalized and Guerreiro has now been officially announced as a Bayern player.
According to the report, Guerreiro joined the team as a free agent and has signed a contract that will be valid until June 2026.
Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Raphael Guerreiro will be joining Thomas Tuchel, his former coach at Dortmund at his new club.
Romano wrote: “Raphael Guerreiro has just signed the official contract as the new Bayern player. Deal completed. Guerreiro joins as a free agent on a contract valid until June 2026.”
Undoubtedly, Thomas Tuchel has some work to do to impress the club’s hierarchy as Bayern enters the summer transfer window.
Although Bayern Munich won their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title, their early exits from both the Champions League and the German Pokal indicated that the team needs to consider making additions to strengthen their squad.
After successfully acquiring Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig without any transfer fee, it was a wise decision to introduce the skilled left-back, Raphael Guerreiro into the team.
The 29-year-old Portuguese star has signed a three-year contract with the German Giants and will be delighted to reunite with Thomas Tuchel.
During his time at Borussia Dortmund, Raphael Guerreiro played in a total of 224 matches.
He netted 40 goals during his stint at the club and also ended the season as the top assist provider in the Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund’s loss of the player to their title rivals on a free transfer is undoubtedly a setback.
The 29-year-old left-back or midfielder had been with the Black and Yellows for seven years. However, he declined the club’s proposal for a fresh contract as he was seeking a new opportunity.
