Ranking Of Teams’ Chances To Win 2023 UEFA Champions League Title

It’s the most important stage of the UEFA Champions League for the current campaign. Every error signals huge implications and every propeller can lead to the crown. 

The UEFA Champions League is now in the quarter-finals phase and there are eight sides battling to get to the next round of the competition. 

Manchester City of England, Bayern Munich of Germany, Napoli of Italy, Real Madrid of Spain, SL Benfica of Portugal alongside Inter Milan of Italy, Chelsea of England and AC Milan of Italy are all still in the race.

All the sides have their ambitions set at winning the trophy but only one side can get to the El Dorado of the UEFA Champions League.

According to FiveThirtyEight, a website that focuses on opinion poll analysis, politics, economics and sports blogging in the United States Of America gave a percentage ranking on every team’s chances of winning the UEFA Champions League in the 2022-2023 season. 

Manchester City

City came first on the list and they have a percentage ranking of 28% based on the information provided by FiveThirtyEight. 

Manchester City are unbeaten in the UEFA Champions League this campaign winning 5 games and sharing the spoils in 3 other encounters. 

They have scored a total of 22 goals and conceded 3 goals so far in the tournament. 

Bayern Munich

The German side are second based on the rankings released by the website. Bayern Munich are pegged at 18% chance of winning the UEFA Champions League which they last lifted in the 2019/20 campaign. 

They have won all the matches that they have played in the UEFA Champions League this season, winning 8 out 8 games and keeping a clean sheet in 7 out of the 8 matches. 

They have scored an impressive 21 goals and conceded just 2 goals in this campaign.

Napoli

The Italian league leaders are placed on a 17% chance of winning the UEFA Champions League as they have been wonderful all through the season so far. 

Napoli have won 7 games so far in the tournament only losing to Liverpool at Anfield in the group stage. They have netted 25 goals and conceded 6 goals so far in the tournament. 

Real Madrid

The defending champions have a 13% chance of winning the tournament according to FiveThirtyEight with Real Madrid battling against Chelsea in the quarter-finals. 

Real Madrid have won 6 games in the competition, sharing the spoils on one occasion and losing once. They have scored 20 goals and conceded 8 goals throughout the tournament.

SL Benfica

The Portuguese league side have had a truly remarkable season and they are in the Champions League quarter-finals. 

They are even ranked above three other notable teams in the competition’s history as they have a percentage of 10% to win the trophy. Benfica are unbeaten in the tournament as they have won 6 games and drawn 2.

SL Benfica have scored 24 goals in the 8 matches they have played since the commencement of the competition, conceding only 8 goals. 

Inter Milan

The Nerazzurri are placed at 6% and have scored 19 goals with a tight defence that have conceded just two goals. 

Inter have won 4 matches in the tournament, drawing once and losing twice. 

Chelsea

The Blues from England are set at a 5% chance to lift the trophy and they have had a wishy-washy season all through the campaign. 

Chelsea have won 5 games in the tournament losing once and sharing the spoils once as well. They have scored 12 goals and conceded 5 goals in the competition. 

AC Milan

Lastly on the list, the defending champions of the Scuddetto and the most successful side to lift the UEFA Champions League from Italy, AC Milan have a 3% chance to win it, based on data from FiveThirtyEight. 

Milan have scored 13 goals in the tournament and conceded just 7. They have won 4 games so far throughout the competition and losing twice. The Italian side have also shared the spoils with their opponent twice in the campaign.
