Sergio Ramos spent many years with Real Madrid, over 16 years in counting and now he is headed to PSG on a two-year contract. Ramos, 35 will play two years of football at PSG until he turns 37 and he’ll earn less than what he was earning in weekly wages while at Real Madrid.
Sergio Ramos said this after his transfer to PSG, “I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” “This is a big change in my life, a new challenge and it’s a day I will never forget. Ramos’ exit from Real Madrid
Sergio Ramos told the media that he was shocked when he realized Real Madrid offered him a deal then they took it off the table. According to him, “It wasn’t a financial problem. They offered me one year, I wanted two,” Ramos said at his Real Madrid farewell news conference on June 17. “In the latest conversations I accepted the offer with a pay cut, and I was told there was no longer an offer. It had an expiry date and I didn’t realise. It surprised me.”
Paris Saint-Germain chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi, was so excited to offer Ramos a deal, he said: “Today, Paris welcomes one of the greatest players of our era. Ramos will play alongside, Neymar and Mbappe, it unclear if he’ll be a starter but he will be a great super sub for the team and he has lots of big games experiences.
