Ligue 1 giants PSG have added yet another talented football prospect, Desire Doue, to their ranks this summer. Doue, 19, was thrust into the limelight following his 2022 breakout campaign with Rennes, including a 2022 FIFA U-17 World Cup heroics for France.
Premier League club Chelsea and Bayern Munich led the list of top European sides who were interested in the prolific winger.
According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have seen off the competition from other suitors to sign Doue on a five-year contract.
Details of the deal reveal the Ligue 1 giants will pay €60m for the youngster. Doue reportedly played a big role in the move to PSG as he only wanted the club amidst strong interests from others.
Doue is PSG’s most expensive signing this summer and the fourth new addition to the team this summer after Matvey Safonov, William Pacho, and Joao Neves.

Desire Doue is a fast-rising young French professional footballer, who played for Rennes in the French top flight and is now set for a new chapter with Ligue 1 giants PSG.
Born on June 3, 2005 in Angers, France, the 19-year-old is regarded as one of the most talented football prospects in Europe. He played as a winger for Rennes and is known for his sleek, stylish, and instane dribbling skills.
Desire Doue’s career
Desire Doue honed his footballing skills in Rennes Academy. He joined the side at the age of 6 in 2011. The young footballing prospect played for 10 years in Rennes Academy.
Following a series of brilliant individual performances, he was transferred to the club’s reserve team in 2021. A few months later, he began to train with the club’s first-team in a preparatory to his transition to first-team action.
After training with the first team for five months, Doue finally broke into Rennes first team in 2022. He made his debut on August 7, 2022, coming on as a substitute in Rennes 1-0 Ligue 1 defeat to FC Lorient. He would go on to make 57 Ligue 1 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals.

Doue has yet to earn a call-up to France’s senior national team. However, he has been making immense progress with France’s youth teams. From 2021 to 2022, Doue made 17 appearances for France’s U-17s, scoring seven goals.
In 2022, he tallied nine appearances for the U-19s, scoring two goals. He has also played for the U-21 team, making a single appearance in 2023. In 2024, Doue made France’s 2024 Olympic squad. He made 10 appearances for the team scoring three goals.
