PSG President, Nasser Al-Khelaifi has once again revived interest in signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in the coming summer.
The president of French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, acknowledged the team’s interest in a key Manchester United attacking player on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
The 25-year-old has long caught PSG’s attention, but no deal seems to be forthcoming despite efforts to sign with the superstar player last summer.
Rashford, a wide player, has undoubtedly seen a renaissance in the first few months of the current season.
The dynamic attacker has established himself as one of the first names on the scoresheet at Old Trafford after being given a new lease on life by manager Erik ten Hag.
During the 2021–2022 season, the 25-year-old struggled to make an impact with the Red Devils, managing just five goals and two assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.
However, under Erik ten Hag, he has been in excellent form for the English powerhouses this season, scoring eight goals and dishing out three assists in 19 games.
Rashford has also been a standout for England at the 2022 World Cup, tallying three goals in four games as the Three Lions advanced to the quarterfinals.
Rival teams around the continent will be aware of Rashford’s probable impending availability because his current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2023.
And as was said before, one of these groups has now made it abundantly plain that they are interested in pulling the 25-year-old away from his native nation.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi did not hold back when he told the media on Thursday that Rashford, who is widely expected to transfer to Paris during the summer, is very much on the Parc des Princes board’s want list.
“He’s (Rashford) another player that is really amazing,” Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports. “And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him.
“Maybe summer why not…let him focus on the world cup”.

If PSG wants to pursue a deal, talks may begin as soon as the January transfer window opens.
Man United is anticipated to start contract negotiations for a potential new long-term agreement after activating Rashford’s 12-month extension.
In light of his potential new contract, Rashford should aim to surpass Rio Ferdinand as the club’s greatest earner, according to the former Red Devils captain.
The academy graduate wants to stay at United and sign a new long-term agreement, but negotiations have stalled because of the World Cup, according to numerous reports.
Since breaking into Man United’s first team in 2015, Rashford has made 322 appearances, scoring 101 goals and registering 61 assists.
What’s next for Rashford?
The winger will hope to be involved when England takes on France in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on Saturday, 10th of December, 2022.
The Three Lions will play France, the defending FIFA World Cup champions, in the quarterfinals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup on Friday, Rashford will be looking forward to being selected for Gareth Southgate’s starting lineup.
