PSG have reportedly shown interest in acquiring the Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The 19-year-old Jude Bellingham is set to decide on his future very soon following the European giant’s interest to sign the English talent.
According to a statement from Dortmund, Jude Bellingham will announce his future very soon and it’s much possible that the England international returns to his home nation.
Bellingham was initially linked with several Europe’s top clubs including Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
However, according to The Sun, PSG have now entered the race at the last minute in an attempt to woo the 19-year-old to move to Paris.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City are the two main clubs likely to get Jude’s signature, with the Merseyside club being the closest linked to the English talent for most of the race.
Liverpool, and in particular Jurgen Klopp, are long-term admirers of the 19-year-old Jude who has represented England in 24 international matches.
However, it is uncertain for the Reds to compete financially with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, and PSG.
And with Dortmund asking for a huge amount between €100m-€150m for Bellingham’s signature, Liverpool could withdraw from the race as the club is known for not spending crazy amounts of money on signing players.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are not willing to lose the young maestro to any club for now as they are also hoping Bellingham will commit his future to the club for one more season with his current contract running until 2025.
But concurring to their quest seems unfeasible as the Three Lions superstar is expected to leave the club at the end of the campaign.
Jude Bellingham joined Dortmund from Birmingham in 2020 and has been doing wonderfully well in the Bundesliga.
The 19-year-old English star has bagged 20 goals and registered 25 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions since he arrived, including ten goals and seven assists this season.
Speaking about Bellingham’s prowess off and on the pitch, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports during the Qatar World Cup that Bellingham is a crucial tool in the Three Lions squad and England are lucky to have him.
Al-Khelaifi said: “Bellingham is an amazing player, what a player.”
“England is lucky to have him, to be honest. He’s one of the best players in the tournament.”
“He’s amazing, in his first World Cup he’s calm, relaxed, and confident.”
He further admitted that Europe’s top clubs want the teenager and confirms the Ligue1 giant’s interest in Jude saying PSG will negotiate with Dortmund for his signature.
He added: “Everyone wants him, I’m not going to hide it.”
“He’s at his club and [we have] respect, so if we want to talk to him, we’ll have to talk to the club first.”
Next for Bellingham and Dortmund
While we await Bellingham’s next move, the young English talent is expected to be in his best form today, April 8 as Dortmund will host Union Berlin in the Bundesliga campaign.
The match will take place at Signal Iduna Park with kickoff time scheduled for 2:30 pm.
