Chelsea moved above Manchester United on the Premier League table after a huge win against West Ham. The Chelsea side scored five goals against their London rival.
Chelsea’s goals came from Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea are already looking forward to qualifying for European competition next season. Pochettino wants to win the remaining games of the season to qualify for either the Conference League or the Europa League.
Brighton returned to winning ways after Joao Pedro scored in the 87th minute of the game against Aston Villa.
Brighton’s win against Aston Villa means the Aston Villa fans will have to wait for another gameweek to move closer to Champions League qualification.
Chelsea (5-0) West Ham
Chelsea had their first attempt on goal in the 10th minute of the game. Jackson forced West Ham goalkeeper Areola into an excellent save.
Chelsea went ahead in the 14th minute of the game through Cole Palmer. Chelsea attacker Noni Madueke crossed the ball into Cole Palmer path for him to score his 21st goal in the Premier League.
There was almost an equalizer from West Ham United but Jarrod Bowen attempt hit the Chelsea goal post.
Chelsea had two attempts in the 18th minute of the game, the first one came from Madueke but his attempt got blocked by West Ham United midfielder Soucek and the second from Chalobah went straight into Areola arm.
Chelsea doubled the lead in the 30th minute of the game after Conor Gallagher attempt got deflected into West Ham goal post.
In the 36th minute of the game, Chelsea scored yet another goal through Madueke header with the West Ham goalkeeper Areola having zero chance of saving the ball.
Few minutes after the third goal of the game, Gallagher went for the fourth goal but his attempt hit the woodwork. West Ham defenders were no where to be found.
Jarrod Bowen hit the goal post in the 44th minute of the game. Chelsea scored the fourth goal of the game with a beautiful goal from Nicolas Jackson.
Madueke had the opportunity to shoot, but he decided to pass the ball into Jackson’s path, who was under no pressure to score the fourth goal of the game.
In the 49th minute of the game, Chelsea attacker Mudryk forced West Ham goalkeeper Areola into another save.
Chelsea had another attempt in the 61st minute of the game, with Areola making an excellent stop. Palmer hit the ball from outside the box, but it was not enough to beat Areola.
Madueke came for another shot on goal, but West Ham goalkeeper Areola did brilliantly to save the shot from going into the net.
In the 71st minute of the game, Chelsea attacker Mudryk found himself in a one-on-one situation, but he wasn’t able to beat West Ham goalkeeper Areola.
In the 78th minute of the match, Bowen hit the crossbar for the third time in the game. It was a beautiful hit from the English star.
Jackson made it 5-0 against West Ham, but it was ruled out for offside. However, after the VAR intervention, the referee decided to award Jackson’s second goal as Chelsea’s fifth goal of the game.
Brighton (1-0) Aston Villa
Aston Villa goalkeeper Olsen was forced into a save in the 8th minute of the game. Brighton attacker Adingra hit the ball nicely, which prompted Olsen to make a good save.
Adingra had another chance in the 48th minute of the match, but he couldn’t convert the chance. A few minutes after Adingra’s attempt, Brighton came again with Pascal Gross’s attempt, which was saved by Aston Villa goalkeeper Olsen.
Olsen denied Brighton a goal in the 63rd minute of the game with a brilliant save to stop Joao Pedro from scoring.
The Brighton side scored in the 71st minute of the Premier League game, but it was ruled out for offside. The goal scorer, Gross, had his knees ahead of the Aston Villa defenders in his attempt to put the Brighton side ahead.
A few minutes after the Gross goal got canceled, Aston Villa attacker McGinn put the ball at the back of the net, but it was ruled out for offside.
Joao Pedro scored the opener for Brighton in the 87th minute of the game. The attacker scored from a rebound after he missed the initial penalty.
